A dreadful ordeal. Service was stiff and pretentious. Not friendly. The tasting menu was overpriced and brought out in painfully slow increments. I liked the first dish, a small sprig of fresh lettuce, tied together with what looked like a piece of scallion. The squid...in a sobrassada/fig sauce was very flavorful. And the pumpkin with cheese and pepitas was fresh with a great blend of flavors. After the first three dishes, everything went downhill. The small razor fish was good but not excellent. The bread was tasteless; the truffle on the eggplant dish tasted like dried paper: the prawn was raw or undercooked and smelled bad. The desserts were meh—not remarkable. Wish I had taken photos, but I was so put off by most of the dishes, I could not.More

An excellent meal in a lovely rustic location in a quiet village with great and attentive service.

Visited after watching Fred Sirieix and Remarkable Places to eat, we were blown away, the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, the 10 course tasting menu was amazing., Each small plate perfectly prepared and wonderfully tasting , made from fresh seasonal, local ingredients. The wine pairing...worked perfectly. A must visit if in MallorcaMore

The best word to sum up this meal was unexciting. A procession of perfectly decent nibbles but none of them particularly memorable. For anyone wanting something better, then drive the short distance to Selva and book Miceli.

Having previously had the dining experience of a superb tasting menu at a country pub in Derbyshire and feeling that it represented a great experience and even value for the money, I have to say that the one at Ca Na Toneta was underwhelming. True...the scenic view, the ambience and service were all excellent but the meal itself was disappointing. A tasting menu should appeal to a range of tastes but without having any meat servings and a majority of dishes featuring some fish input including octopus and white fish, which individually I do like, there were none that I especially would have liked to re-order. I can understand that some people may have preferred a dominance of fish and vegetarian tastes but for me and the collective view of my friends, this was a disappointment.More

Absolutely outstanding hospitality and food. The town, the food, the experience and the warm hospitality from the owners was simply outstanding. We loved it here and had an amazing experience. If you love innovative, sustainable, home grown produce- go! We’d recommend you pre-book a taxi...(which we didn’t) but the restaurant were brilliant, and they managed to source us one, just showing how they go above and beyond. Congratulations to the sisters for creating an innovative experience.More

Fabulous meal, tasting menu of 10 courses and you experience lots of different flavours and taste sensations. Staff friendly, welcoming and very informative. Well worth the visit. We booked on the back of seeing Fred Sirieux visit in Remarkable Places to Eat as we have...visited a few restaurants he has been to in his programmes, and we've not been disappointed yet.More

We were here for lunch and were a bit surprised that there was only the option of eating a ten-course menu. We really liked the composition of the menu, it was all delicious, perfectly prepared and a great mix of different flavours. Even though the...menu is quite expensive, it is definitely worth it because there were many small courses with different, lovingly arranged components. If the website was a bit more informative about what an elaborate menu is served, I would have preferred to visit the restaurant for dinner and enjoy the whole thing even more.More

If you are open to new approaches to organic food, cooked on traditional recipes and then newly interpreted it will be a fantastic experience. If you are looking for a traditional Approach like starter, fish, meat, dessert then don’t go there. We had a great...afternoon with great, creative ideas how to cook and present the dishes. The extraordinary wines were explained perfectly and all in all it was a complete new pleasant experience. Thanks to the whole team for a perfect afternoon.More

This isn’t just a restaurant. From start to finish this is an experience. The welcome in the shop is a nice introduction to the area of Caimari and when you get seated in the restaurant everything feels just how it should be. The cups, the...plates, the napkins, all in sync. The 9 course diner (incl wine tasting) is from the first bite a wave of flavours. The wines come from small befriended winemakers and are special to taste but get enriched by the food (and vice versa). The staff is almost educational in the information of the ingredients they’re providing. It’s not a cheap restaurant and the glasses could’ve been a bit more full but it’s all worth it though as the portions of the food are perfectly enough! Would go again as I’m curious to see and taste what they’re menu will be in the other seasons. Just an amazing experience and one of the most special restaurants of Europe!!More

If you want to have a good authentic mallorcan dining experience you should go! However, we were very surprised about the lack of finesse in the food given the price and how they present it all. We took the tasting menu with one wine pairing...and paid approx. 200 euro. Be aware that tax is not included on the menu. One of the servings was bread, oil and olives. Even if it was from their own farm it didn’t stick out at all and you would have expected this to come as an included aperitivo rather than being one of the stand alone courses. The balance between flavours, salt, sweet and sour disappointed us in a majority of the dishes and some were, to be frank, quite tasteless? There was also a feeling that the content of the dishes all together was quite cheap and not at all in line with what you pay. We are true foodies when we travel and I would not have taken the car to Caimari just for this experience again unfortunately. On the plus side the personell was extremely friendly and all the wines we had were ”bold” but yet fanastic!More

We have been there 4 of 5 times. Not because the food is so exceptional, it’s rather expensive for what you get, but being an interior architect the looks of a restaurant also has to meet my taste. And to be honest this is one...of the nicer looking restaurants in this part of mallorca. As we wanted to drop in for a cocktail today, the owner of the restaurant made a lot of fuss about our bikes. By the grace of god she allowed us to sit in front of the restaurant, which is ok (chairs are terrible to sit on though). What we witnessed a little later was just too rude for words. Two young Dutch couples came for dinner, but 3 of them had forgotten their mask. As it happened right in front of us, we couldn’t help but hear every single word. The owner of the restaurant said she didn’t have masks, neither were they allowed to walk inside one by one using the same mask. We shortly considered to offer to use our masks, but thought that would be rather weird. They four left in dismay, to return a little later, some local who they had asked where to buy masks nearby, had sold them 3 masks for €10,-. The lady owner guided them to their table. Only shortly after the Dutch were seated, a young Spanish couple came in, they had also forgotten their masks. The girl asked the lady owner of the restaurant if she’d had any spare and to our big surprise she said yes of course, went and came back with 2 wrapped masks. We had often heard negative stories about Ca Na Toneta, but to me it had this bonus as it looks so nice, which is not so easy to find outside Palma. We passed by a couple of times during the last few months, but it was never open, nor did they answer the telephone. We were afraid they hadn’t survived the lockdown period like so many others. After the first excitement to see their open door tonight, came the disappointment of the way they treated us as well as these young Dutch people. We understand it’s a tough time for so many restaurants and it’s therefore maybe not always easy to stay positive. But sending 4 guests away won’t help, nor being rude. There are many restaurants that need support. We will go elsewhere to give ours.More
