Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a lovely pub!! Super staff - nothing was too much trouble. Wonderful, fresh home-cooked and tasty food. Great wine list! I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal in the Rochester area. Ten out of ten!!

We have eaten at The White Hart during the day on many occasions and the food has been good, tasty and served by very friendly staff. We decided to have a Sunday roast and it really was yuk!. The gravy was like water with zero...taste, the roast potato skins were rock hard and the Yorkshire puddings were doughy. The price was very fair but it really was a very bland and easily forgettable meal.More

Excellent food - pleasant environment (no background muzak!) - and very attentive service. The honey-glazed pork belly is especially recommended...😋

Unfortunately the menu has changed and there is very little choice now for vegans. Very disappointing as there were 2 amongst a party of 10 and there used to be lots of choice. Will have to go elsewhere which is a shame as it is...our local.More

Second visit to the white hart and it won't be the last. Everything perfect. Excellent welcome and service throughout our visit. Food is absolutely scrumptious and plenty of it. Definitely going back. Thanks to all the staff.

Slow service had to wait 20 minutes to order drinks, and food looked good but not as good as last time. Roast potatoes had a very hard exterior, so once in, I only ate the middle. I would say the veg was just blanched, so...Al dente. Yorkshire Pudding looked good but was rubbery. The best was the roast beef and roast Lamb. The water for the table came in a nice bottle, but inside the neck was dirty as if not cleaned. The biggest bug bear was a non blue badge parked in the disabled parking spaceMore

Lovely food and atmosphere. Shame there isn't a vegan dessert option, as lots of options for mains. Would come back again but can you look at adding a couple of vegan options?

Great food, and staff really friendly and efficient. Good place to have a light lunch or a full meal, with an interesting menu, not just the usual dishes you find in most pubs. The red velvet cheesecake was fantastic, although I was torn between that...and blackberry profiteroles or white chocolate and raspberry roulade. This is a sweet lovers paradise!More

4 of us, two couples, one with a baby, we decided not to cook. Decided on The White Hart as the previous Sunday lunches were good. We were not let down food was good and hot even though it was busy, baby stayed asleep and...for a newborn that was great. The only issue was desert, it said sourdough bread pudding it turned out to be bread and butter pudding, slices of sourdough soaked in egg mix then baked, sultanas added after as they were loose not embedded. It was ok, especially as I don't like the sultanas. I normally pick most of them out. Will return soonMore
