Pleasant lunch of delicious platters and complimentary wine tasting ( if you eat at the restaurant). Excellent, attentive service. Need to book! Not open for evening meals.

We had 8 for lunch and the food was wonderful, along with the service. You can't beat the views or the wine! We had the Haloumi Salad, swordfish special and seafood pasta, all were great. Wine matches complimented the dishes nicely. Definitely need to book, but well worthwhile.

Great view, delicious prawn & clam pasta & wonderful Pinot Gris & Pinot Noir....a very thoughtful & responsible addition were sun hats & sunscreen provided if sitting out on the terrace. Highly recommended as part of a day touring the Central Otago wineries. Make sure you book in the busy times!

The title says it all. The setting is spectacular, looking up the Upper Clutha Valley. The food is very good. The service is very attentive although possibly not as "polished" as it could be given the location and quality of food and wine. Call me old fashioned but I don't like every course being interrupted with "is everything ok"?

Our favourite vineyard in Otago. Visited on numerous occasions and member of the wine club. Perfect weather, fabulous location, wonderful food, excelled friendly service and glorious wine. Perfect NY eve late lunch with the family.

My wife and 8 month old son had lunch here and the day, setting, staff and facilities could not be better. Not only were the staff, service, and food spot on, they've clearly had a good think about how to cater to their clientelle - from the child friendly changing facilities, through to providing hats & sunscreen for the outdoor... I highly recommend taking time to stop passed for lunch or for a wine tasting. The resturant offers spectacular views and delicious tasting food which you can pair with a beautiful Mt Difficulty wines. Pays to make a booking or phone in advance if eating. I will be coming back.

Set on the Bannockburn Terrace above the vineyard this restaurant offers a panoramic view of the valley and vineyards. The range of Mt Difficulty wines is good, you can buy at the cellar door and have with your meal. The atmosphere is simple, understated and quite elegant, the service is very good and you are made to feel as a... More

Intimate setting with gorgeous scenery for a spectacular lunch with wonderful wine. Remember to make a booking during the busy season. And make sure to save some room for dessert, it's delish, especially the chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream.

Description
The Winery Restaurant at Mt Difficulty provides a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a delicious lunch. The restaurant is open daily between 12 noon and 4pm. On a fine day the outdoor terrace is the perfect spot to take in the flavours of the region while enjoying the uniquely Central Otago views. The chef produces imaginative cuisine, and the menu showcases the freshest of produce, with a choice of substantial fare or platters to share. The kitchen is open and the dining environment is casual. All main meal options come with suggested wine matches, though diners are welcome to make their own choices during a complimentary wine tasting at our Cellar Door tasting counter. Reservations are essential - demand is high year round and much of our seating is weather dependent.
