The restaurant is located in an off street from the Canela main square. It doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside, but trust me, it is! This is a traditional German restaurant specialized in Schnitzel (breaded and pan fried cut of pork). There's a number of different varieties - we had the number 6 (Schweizerschnitzel), with grilled cheese and... More

Definitely recommended. Simple, home-made food in this family restaurant. Ok, it's almost toooo German - I bet there aren't many restaurants in Germany that look this German :). But it is ok, it must be the nostalgia the owner has of his family roots. But very good food, no-frills place, perfect to relax. Not obvious to find, though, as the... More

We tried the Schnitzelstubb as per Trip Advisor reviews and stepped by as family in a rainy and cool day in Canela. The restaurant itself is small and full of German stuff, maps, glasses, flags and so on. Very nice indeed for a typical German resemblance. The service is also good. However, we found the menu options Schnitzelly, meaning, too... More

The food is fantastic in this simple German house. It takes time but I guarantee you that your wait will worth. Ask the "number 6" that is the best one

Quaint setting in older house, inside resembles a small German tavern! Extensive menu, all prepared fresh by owner. Great atmosphere, great food, friendly owners! Great choice for lunch in Canela.

We found this charming restaurant by Tripadvisor, when we went there, it was simply magical, the house have a very simple and comfortable environment and it's all German style. The specialty of the house, Schnitzel is simply Wonderful! It has a plate full of flavours, the combination of the side-dishes is Sehr Gut!

My husband and I lived in Germany for three years and was really looking to reminiscing how wonderful the food is there. We were not at all disappointed. It was more than we ever expected! We ordered the Jägerschnitzel with Champignon and Spätzle . It came with steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and gratinated Potatoes. Delicious!!!! We enjoyed fresh brewed... More

The owners are very nice and the rahmschnitzel was good. Draft beer machine wans't working properly. the place itself is no big deal. I've been to lots of better German restaurants and I wouldn't go back. It's not bad, just not worth it.
