Managed to get to Tsilivi in Sep and visited three times, the best Taverna in town. Great welcome from the team and good to catch up with Lakis and Diana. First visit we enjoyed chicken wings and the special fishcakes followed by Paprika Chicken and Sofrito, all dishes were excellent. Saturday meant kalamari to begin with and curried goat, a warmly spiced dish full of flavour and wholeheatedly recommended. Our last visit we both decided on the specials for the day: cheese pie, made with herbs and a hint of mint covered in honey and sesame seeds, delightful. The souvlaki of beef was extraodinary, made from shin of beef, it ate like prime steak and was beautifully flavoured, Lakis is the master of meat! The waiters and staff are great, good choice of wine, the house red is very good, and prices mean it is great value. Will definitely return, still got some menu items to try.

Just returned from a week's holiday in Tsilivi and tried this restaurant after seeing the reviews. We were staying at Tui Blue Caravel all inclusive but the food and buffet situation was not great so ended up eating out. We went back for a 2nd meal here after enjoying the first one so much. It's such a busy place especially after 7.30pm so you may need to reserve. Great personal service from the owner and all staff genuinely wanted you to enjoy the food. We can especially really recommend the mushroom starter, the Mousaaka and the Chicken in garlic, white wine sauce. Food was simple bit very tasty. Enjoy!

Would recommend this restaurant to everyone the food was delicious, staff very pleasant and helpful. We went twice during our stay and couldn’t fault anything it is definately a must to try. Grandaughter bought their cookbook on our last night and they signed it and gave her a tablecloth for the Greek night she said her dad was going to do and also details of their live cooking shows on Facebook. Thank you for making our nights so special

This could well be my millionth trip to the Olive Tree, in a 4 night holiday I have eaten here 3 nights. Everything about the Olive Tree for me is perfect, traditional Greek cuisine with Lakis unique twist. The lovely outdoor garden you dine in, the fabulous waiters, the lovely Diana who is always happy to provide the details of all the dishes. Highly recommend!

We came upon The Olive Tree 4 years ago when we stayed in Tsvili & have never forgotten it. This time we stayed in Alykes but took a 25 min taxi ride to revisit & reminisce and it’s still as wonderful! We had the prawn saganaki & the filo cheese parcel as our starters & for the mains we had the special of the day which was meatloaf & veg & my fiancée had the slow cooked shin of beef & everything tasted amazing! The hospitality with Diane & Lakis is wonderful & we only wished we could have visited more than once this time. (We did pre-book a table the night before via email & it was still soooo busy!)

We visited this evening after being enticed in by very friendly waiters but I’m afraid that is all it had to offer. The food was extremely bland and when I mentioned this they didn’t seem to take it on board. Nothing else was offered to rectify the issue I had the chicken a la creme it was literally like a tin of soup had been emptied on my plate. Absolutely no flavour the chicken had been chopped Into small pieces and was very dry. No grilled vegetables just a few potatoes. Very disappointed for our last evening meal. The setting was lovely and it does lead you into a false sense of security but seriously they need to up their game. I hope they will take my constructive criticism and up their game.

OLIVE TREE Tortelloni Spinach and ricotta cheese served in a mushroom sauce Topped with  grated Kefalotyri cheese.  I was expecting a huge burst of flavor to tantalise my tonsils, along side  the abient music payed softly through out the restraunt with beautiful traditional  Greek decor and stunningly handsome waiter. Instead I was served a plate of tortelloni  that could have been better prepared by a novis. Served in a plain white dish, with little garnish, some tortelloni  pieces were undercooked which meant it had to be chewed like gum. The filling was dry and cold. The only thing that gave it any flavor was the creamy cheese sauce, which covered up the over powering earthy taste. The portion size was small which was a relief but meant I came out hungry. Waiting for the natural flavors to leak through was like waiting for a drunken man to finish his last drink,it didn't happen. 4 out of 10 signed by Englands best blogger and food critic.

We're staying close by and Trip Advisor rated the Olive Tree highly so we rocked up on the off chance they'd have a table free, given it was a busy Sunday evening. Thankfully they pushed a couple of smaller tables together for us and we had a truly superb night. The place has real character with decorative stone walls, lights in the trees and traditional Greek music playing in the background. The service was so friendly and personal while the food was out of this world. We really felt looked after and like we were old friends, so much so that we'll be breaking our own rule of never eating in the same place twice while on holiday. It really was that good. You know you're in for a good evening when there are multiple things on the menu that you'd like to eat, hence one visit isn't going to be enough for us. We'll definitely be back. We love our food so much and the Olive Tree will live long in the memory. The pork wellington was so good that my head almost fell off. Absolutely superb!

Went here after remembering it being really nice last 2 times in Zante (long time ago). After ordering we waited a long time, a waiter asked us about our order we told them we hadn't even had our starter yet. They had forgotten it and our main meal was ready to come out, so we said we would forego the starter. Slow cooked lamb was not what I expected at all rice & herbs in a clay pot no sauce tiny lamb shank in the middle and then some kind of baked egg I think on top. I could not eat it, I tried some sauce from husband's dish to mix with the rice but no. A couple of other people nearby also left their too. My husband wasn't fond of his meal either so we wouldn't return

Our fourth time in Tsilivi so we wanted to try somewhere different. We were not disappointed one bit, from the second we walked into the restaurant we were treated to first class service culminating in fantastic food and wine by attentive and friendly staff. Reasonable prices too. The Olive Tree has a true authentic Greek feel and we left 100% happy with our evening there.

We were recommended to go here by so many people that we saved it for our last night . It didn’t disappoint.. the small outdoor garden setting is so pretty and the staff were very welcoming. our dishes were just mouth watering so much so that we bought the recipe book which is a history of the taverna ( first one in Tsilivi) back in the 80s and is full of easy to make Greek dishes x would go back in a heart beat 💖

We ate here last night, first night of our holiday. For us the Olive Tree is one of our “must visit” restaurants when we are in Tsilivi, along with a handful of others. After a warm welcome from our hosts I enjoyed a very tasty tortellini, enhanced by a great sauce with plenty of mushrooms, while my husband devoured the paprika chicken. Great atmosphere and Greek food at its best.

A family run taverna serving local tastes cooked from fresh seasonal ingredients. Owners Diana and Lakis (who is also the chef) are very friendly. We had the Aubergine Rolls stuffed with haloumi as a starter and then asked for the Spicy Sea Bream which was not available but they offered to do the Seabass in the same way. The Seabass was prepared as a fillet with fresh chili, ginger, parsley and onions and served with a very tasty rice. We also had the house wine which was pretty good. Will return if we visit the island again.

Outstanding cuisine in Tsalivi. This restaurant has a great back story and isn’t just a pop up to please the crowds. Real Zakynthian / Greek cuisine that totally stands out from the rest of the eateries in the area. Real family recipes handed down from generation to generation served in a pleasant olive garden setting, the owner & head chef gives the real personal touch. 100% not to be missed / book early to avoid disappointment, as walk ins are rare until after 10pm

We’ve visited The Olive Tree several times on each of the occasions we’ve stayed in Tsilivi since 2009. It’s easily the best restaurant in the resort, and one of the best on the island, serving authentic and delicious greek food in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Personal favourites are Mama Mary’s lamb and the beef stifado, and the dessert of local yoghurt and honey is simple but delicious. We’ve travelled to many of the Greek islands and eaten everywhere from food stands to Michelin star restaurants, but if I had to pick only one place to return to that got absolutely everything right - food, setting, service, value and welcome - I’d pick The Olive Tree. Covid may prevent us from travelling right now but we’re already looking forward to our next visit, whenever they may be
