Wednesday evening 21st July we visited this beachfront Taverna for dinner. There was seating by the beach, covered with umbrellas with palm leaves. These were rather popular so there were none available at the time of our visit. Not a problem we were happy to sit upstairs on the veranda, overlooking the beach and out to sea. We ordered two old favourites Moussaka and Chicken souvlaki as well as two bottles of cold Mythos beer. We thought that it might be a bit dearer here due the prime location. We were very pleasantly surprised to see that prices were in keeping with other resturants. A bottle of Mythos was €3 slightly cheaper than others in the town. While we waited for food to be served we were given a basket of bread with some butter, we thought that's a cover charge. When served the moussaka, came with a salad, the souvlaki was served with homemade chips. The moussaka whilst it was tasty it was piping hot around the edges of the bowl, it was tepid towards the centre. The souvlaki was was big chunks of succulent chicken. There was vinegar on the table but no olive oil, to dress the salad, we asked the waiter for some oil. He presented us with a small unopened bottle of oil, we thought that's another charge. The service was a bit slow and staff not overly attentive, took some effort to attract their attention. When we finished our meals we sat, with another beer, listening to the sea lapping up on the beach with a cooling gentle breeze As the evening progressed and night drew in we could see the stunning colours in the sky as the sun set. We did watch the progress of a liner sail towards Kefelonia. When we asked for the bill, we were given a piece of some traditional cake. Would like to confirm that there were NO additional charges on the bill. We did go back and on the second occasion we ordered Kokkinsto (beef stew in tomato sauce) which was served with rice and homemade chips and Bream (vegetable bake) served with salad. Pleased to say we both enjoyed our meals on this occasion, so was worth a second chance. However, the service remained slow, perhaps there were insufficient staff to provide the number of tables in use. Yet again we did enjoy the ambiance of the place, nothing beats the sound of the sea lapping and a gentle breeze We did see a sign for this Taverna, along the High Street, which proclaimed that this is the oldest Taverna in Tsilivi since, been here since1959.

Fabulous seafood served in a perfect beachside location. We were staying at a nearby all inclusive hotel, but chose to eat here 3 times during our stay because the seafood was just so good! Staff are really friendly, and incredibly efficient.... I’m still not sure how they run up those steps with trays of plates loaded on their shoulders! The food arrives really quickly and is a feast for the eyes and stomach alike! We were delighted to find this restaurant still here as we were visiting after an absence of almost 30 years, and it is still run by the same family, we were served by the original owners grandson . On our first visit this year we ordered way too much food, starters and then mains, portions are generous! , so next time we chose to feast on a selection of starters with a salad which gave a variety of taste and plenty of food. We particularly enjoyed the ‘married sardines’ and the fried anchovies, and the huge prawns were also a treat! We chose to eat outside, along the seafront, but you can also eat out on a raised terrace or indoors if preferred. I highly recommend this lovey place!

A wonderful bar/restaurant with a fabulous sea view. We had a couple of meals and multiple cold beers, cocktails and milkshakes here during a two week stay and found it to be be our peaceful getaway when we ventured out from the hotel to the beach. Staff were great, very friendly and efficient and very family friendly. Also a great base in between having swims in the gorgeous sea. Highly recommended!

A basic sea front restaurant in Tsilivi, the service was very slow and the food Saganaki, fried cheese was average, the Stifado, beef in tomato sauce was good. The toilets were the big disappointment soiled paper on the floor blocked ladies loo, I ask two of the staff to take a look at the loos. They were playing table tennis,

We had a meal in Avgoutis when we were staying in the TUI Blue Caravel next door. The menu is extensive and includes lots of authentic Greek dishes. I had the olives to start and it was a huge portion and they were delicious! My partner had the spetsofai - spicy sausage in tomato sauce. Again there was loads and it tasted so good! We followed that with a pizza (half of which we took back to the hotel for breakfast the next day!) and seabass. Again both of these were cooked so well and tasted amazing. The service was great and the views are just beautiful - we went at sunset which was just perfect. Two courses each (with enough for breakfast the next day) and 2 beers each came to €51 which we thought was great value

Booked this restaurant for a special occasion after reading some good reviews, it ended up being our worst meal out of our entire 9 night holiday. We were excited to see the sunset whilst enjoying our meal however couldn't actually see it from our table as it was behind the hotel next door. One of the waiters was rude, he was visibly annoyed when we weren't ready to order drinks (we'd only been sat down a few mins and hadn't had chance to look at the menu). Other than the first waiter being eager to take our drinks order, the service was very slow! The food was average at best. My starter was tepid and my wife's main was also so. There wasn't any point in trying to get it heated as you couldn't flag down a waiter for love nor money. My main (pastitsio) didn't taste of much at all. Overall, very disappointing evening and not somewhere we would return.

We visited the Augoustis Taverna early June while staying nearby. The restaurant is so pretty and picturesque. The food was amazing, so much to choose from. We shared a starter of garlic bread followed by a mains of the Souvlaki which was available in Chicken or Pork. It was really tasty we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were so helpful and looked after us very well. We enjoyed the sunset after our meal while enjoying a bottle our white wine. Everything was very reasonably priced and we had a wonderful evening. We highly recommend Augoustis Taverna.

An excellent location overlooking the sea. We managed to get a table on the lower balcony right at the front - a prime spot. The welcome was good and remained friendly through the evening. House wine was palatable. The crab balls very good. The rest of the food (mainly seafood) was tasteless. It can get chilly when the wind is blowing. Would be happy to visit again for views and drinks, but would not return for food.

Lovely meal, fabulous menu, too many nice things. We had sardines and feta with honey and sesame to start, followed by beef kaddinidos and swordfish. Delicious. And still warm baklava for dessert was the best we’ve ever tasted. So good

Augoustis is a lovely fish restaurant right on the water front in Tsilivi. The location adds to the experience as the view over the bay is beautiful. Like tuna swordfish can be a tricky choice, it's hard to get it right. I have never had swordfish souvlaki before and therefore went for a traditional way of cooking a not so traditional type of meat. Grilled to perfection, it was delicious! Don't let the name keep you from visiting, Augoustis also offers meat dishes like Kleftiko, souvlaki and gyros.

We stayed in Tsivili for a week and visited this lovely restaurant twice as we loved everything about it so much. The service was excellent and the food was beautifully cooked and fresh. The view whilst enjoying your evening meal and drinks was unbelievable. We were served by Marius on both visits- he was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend this amazing place.

Lovely spot for a bit of lunch. Sea view. We ate here everyday for lunch trying a variation of different meals. The mixed grill for 1 person was enough for 2 people. The salmon was cooked perfect. The chips all homemade. The souvlaki was really good also. Could not fault in anyway. Service was excellent we will be back again hopefully later this year!

We have been coming here for the last 4 years and unfortunately I think the place needs to step up in many areas. The food is pretty average/good and I think it could generally do with upping its game, eg old tables with no table cloths. It wouldn't take much to make this a top place to visit as think it needs a bit of investment to tidy the place up a bit. The toilets are especially bad. Not sure we will return again, which is a shame as this was and could be a great restaurant.
