Great ambience on beach front. Friendly service. Good food. I recommend fritto misto and avocado salad. Pasta dishes also good and al dente.

The location was perfect, the ocean view is breathtaking, however the customer service was horrible! A good number of the waiters were in a foul mood, rude, dismissive and unhelpful! They also treat whites better than the locals. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Had dinner there, friendly staff and classy venue. Good food and extensive drinks menu compared to other Diani restaurants (including microbrews, for those who like me find Tusker to be VERY bland). I was worried about the hassle of the 1500 KES voucher other reviewers...talked about - it does NOT apply to dinner, only 9am-5pm.More

I want to pick up the discussion of the 1,500 shilling vouchers. I have been customer at Nomad since 25 years been there hundreds of times spending a lot of money. I had a membership card with a paid deposit of 5k. That membership was...then revoked after almost 2 years of waiting for the new cards. Deposit? No refund…! Despite that I went there again. Had to pay 3k for vouchers. When it came to the point of payment (after spending 4 hours there) nobody asked me for my vouchers even though nobody is allowed to enter without them. So I didn’t remember and paid my bill of more than 10k only to realise the next morning when heading to Nairobi that I had 2 vouchers in my wallet. I called them immediately but was told vouchers are only redeemable on the same day. Spoke to the management a few times in vain. No chance to redeem another day. I had spend more than 10k that evening plus the 3k for the vouchers. This is theft! Be aware. They introduced this voucher system to steal from customers. Ridiculous! Haven’t been there since. Still having the vouchers though… I would only accept a formal apology but they seem not to care. It must be done intentionally.More

Beautiful views, delicious food, quiet/calm/chill atmosphere, great service. We were looking for a place beyond our all-inclusive resort about 15 mins down the street and the Nomad did not disappoint. I went with the mango gazpacho, the diavala pizza and a strawberry milkshake. My wife...went with a Caesar salad, fish tacos and a variety of drinks. We’d order the same things in a heartbeat, although there were a number of other items on the menu we’d also like to try. As other reviews mention, be prepared to pay a deposit to enter the resort, but it’s fully credited toward your food bill, which we more than spent in the restaurant. And the beach/view is absolutely gorgeous.More

Visited this place after diving with ”Diving The Crab”. Nomad Beach Bar and Restaurant has very tasty food with amazing view to Diani beach. Feta cheese samosas are super tasty. These are must to try. There was life music as well. This place could be...simply as PARADISE.More

Sadly we didn’t get the opportunity to eat at Nomads as their current policy is that you have to pay an effective “deposit” on your meal at the entrance gate before you are allowed in to go to the restaurant We decided that this policy...wasn’t for us so we didn’t pay “in advance” before we saw the menu. A very bizarre policy indeed and not one I was prepared to be subjected to We did however go to the “craft fair” held at Nomads ( free entrance 👌😂) and have a look round their bar and restaurant It is a beautiful spot and a really nice place The craft fair was excellent and we bought a bunch of really nice clothes and gifts so if it’s on when you are in Diani Beach please go you won’t regret it On the “deposit” policy …. Up to you but we didn’t agree with it 👎More

They charge a pre-paid fee to enter, which is redeemed at the restaurant, but we found this experience to leave a bitter taste. Also, as a result, the food and service quality is pretty bad, since they don't have to try very hard since they...have the money already!More

As a family retreat,we went for lunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon and we had the most amazing time. Our table was waiting for us(we were 13 in total) in just the right position to view the tide coming in.The youngsters in our group had a...great time chasing the crashing waves whilst the older ones 😊 enjoyed their drinks whilst catching up on what was going on in their lives. After a long discussion (to the frustration and patience of our delightful waitress) we ordered different dishes on the menu to try out.All our meals were superb 👍🏻.We all enjoyed all the food we had ordered and cleared our plates in a few minutes after we were served. The total experience with regards to service, food and atmosphere was awesome 🎉More

This spot is great for lunch. Friendly staff and great food. If you are not staying in hotel and use their entrance to the beach, they may charge you to get it. Any charges are redeemable when you eat in the restaurant. It is not...clear what the criteria is for changing as sometimes they and other times they don't. Otherwise one can use the entrance at Safari beach and walk back.More

We had high expectations for Nomads as family members had been in the past and had given positive reviews and so we left it for the final night of our trip. Sadly our experience was not so positive. We didn't mind paying for the pre-paid...voucher as we had planned on eating dinner there. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely but we did note that there were hardly any patrons at a time when we expected it to be busier. The food service was very slow. We were a larger group (9) but we had been out to other restaurants with us all and it was far slower than we had experienced anywhere else. Some of the food was tasty - the sushi was good as were the appetizers. Most of the main meals however, left much to be desired. The goat curry wasn't great, and the calamari pasta was extremely salty. The remaining dishes also got less than rave reviews. Family we were with stated that clearly the quality is not up to the standard it used to be. And a side note, the gift shop is grossly overpriced. Although I know there is a mark-up in hotels, the mark-up on unmarked goods was triple what I could buy items for in the shops.More

Nomads is charging 1500 kes at the gate to even be able to eat at the restaurant!!!. They would not allow us to go to the restaurant unless we pre-paid at the gate. Absurd!!! And, we were told this is the policy. I have been...here before and never been shook down at the gate. Nomads new management is absurd and let’s be honest; the food isn’t even that great (much better places in Diani that don’t charge you at the gate to go to their restaurant). I find it offensive to be charged for food before I am welcomed as a customer into the restaurant and before I even sit down to look at the menu. Totally ridiculous!!!More

This is our 3rd visit to Nomads and it didn’t disappoint. We booked a table for 5.30 for our anniversary dinner but arrived early for drinks and a walk on the beach, we were served by Maya who was excellent! She was friendly and accommodating,ensuring...our beachfront table was still waiting for us when we returned from the walk. She was also attentive but not intrusive. The food was lovely especially the pizzas, altho we were sad to see that Calzone is no longer on the menu. We also planned to order pina coladas but these were not listed on the drinks menu. When we asked about it a different waiter said they didn’t have them, then asked if we were residents or from outside.... it seemed a strange question as tho we would be treated differently had we been ‘residents.’ Aside from that the service was great and we would def come back!More

2 of us had tried the Nomad last year at a different time of the day for drinks only; they liked it and proposed to go there for lunch. Unexpected: you have to buy a voucher at the entrance to gain access, Voucher which you...will use at the restaurant - is Ksh.1500/- per head. So at this point, you do not know what is on the menu, if you will like the place etc. Should it happen that you don't enjoy any of the services being offered - you lose your money as there is no refund. Take a chance, it might work out for you!! The restaurant itself is very nice in terms of setting, cleanliness and ambience, and the staff is friendly. When the place is full though the wait is a bit long at least that was our experience (30 mins +). At least the drinks service must be quick. For a '' On the beach'' restaurant you would expect all seafoods - just so you know; No Lobsters ( environmental ideology which I respect) no crabs (abundant supply; you could literally walk on them at sunset, so many recipes you can do with crabs!), Calamari, clams, mussels ... We had a few starters that were nice and tasty. * Seafood platter the Prawns were a bit tiny ( i believe bigger ones make a difference). We wanted an avocado salad - it is on the menu but not available and one of us couldn't eat anything else : when a dish is not available it would be good to inform waiters asap so they can inform the guest/client before they order - no frustration! Kids had burgers, Sushi - Nice. Price: reasonable. No pets allowed: thank you for that!!More
