Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was served by the owner who was so helpful. My wife is vegetarian and was not sure what to have. Owner suggested trying the vegetable moussaka (Wife has tried in UK restaurants and has never like as aubergine is usually cooked to death!). He also said if she did not like he would get the chef to cook something else for her what excellent service! She said this tasted very nice and I tried a bit myself and would have happily eaten. I had chicken with lemon potatoes and veg which was very nice also. Owner brought my wife complimentary home made orange cake and ice cream for trying the moussaka. We shared this and it was delicious. Such a change to go to a restaurant that goes out of there way and cares so much for there customers. Can see why this was busy every night at end of season when most others were empty.

We ate here twice during our recent stay in Arillas and as always it did not disappoint. This is good traditional Corfiot food at its best, as Dimitris said it is what they eat only we have to pay for it. All in all a great place, great quality and all very reasonably priced. Until net year hopefully. Iain & Anne

Dimitris is the ultimate host, fluent in many languages. Food is of a high quality although a little on the expensive side for a regular eatery. However, the ambience is welcoming and it's always very busy so worth booking first.

This place plays to what a lot of people think a taverna should look like, right down to the blue and white tablecloths. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the promise on our visit. The moussaka consisted of a thin veneer of meat sandwiched between a potato bas and a thick, flavourless topping - served lukewarm and accompanied by two small roast potatoes. The owner seems to spend most of his time schmoozing high-spending customers while leaving a solitary waiter to do the lifting.

Amazing atmosphere, best hospitality, and delicious, authentic Greek food! It was already rated highly, but the information on their website about the owner’s civic actions turned a simple meal into an experience. A leader for recycling and cleaning up Corfu, the restaurant composts their food waste, uses only glass bottled water, and runs on solar power. A family business that prepares genuine, fresh, traditional Greek dishes from scratch? And cares about the environment?Yes, please!

We had 2 evening meals at The Brouklis Taverna the first meal we managed to get a table without booking, the owner took our order and served us our meal which was quite nice and due to the fact that we had only just arrived in Arillas after a very early morning flight we ate our meal, finished our drinks, paid our bill and left shortly afterwards, the restaurant and staff seemed very pleasant so we booked a table for the next night, the atmosphere seemed to have changed but we sat down ordered our drinks and had our food order taken, the starters arrived within minutes which seemed strange, after we had finished our starters the plates were taken and almost immediately the main courses were delivered to our table, which again they seemed to be in a rush, so we finished our main course, finished our drinks and went to pay the bill, I just got told by the owner tell my son that your table number is, so I waited and the son eventually came to the till. I told him our table number and he just said 61 euros which seemed expensive for what we had so I said are you sure, and he said 61 euros that’s the bill, and then muttered something in Greek that obviously I didn’t understand, I wasn’t going to argue and create a scene so I payed the bill and we left. This restaurant is best avoided if you’re not German as they do seem to like making a fuss of them, also be very careful to check exactly how much it costs on the menu as maybe they like to overcharge some people, and the food is not that great as we had much better food and service in other restaurants locally.

We loved everything about our experience there, the authentic, traditional Greek decor, the fantastic food and good local wine. Dimitris is a great host and his sister is a fabulous chef! They use local, organic produce when possible and they care about the environment a great deal. The traditional dishes from the oven are particularly good and worth trying, but every other dish we have had there was equally excellent. One of them was a vegan, gluten free musaka, honestly the best I have ever tasted. The fish dish was superb too . We ate there three times during our holiday and the service was always excellent. This is a very popular restaurant, so booking is recommended.

We ate here several times whilst in holiday. Food was freshly cooked and a good choice of daily specials, lamb chops were best I’ve ever tasted. The owner was delightful and made you feel very welcome. We would definitely recommend

We had dinner this evening at this restaurant in Arillas after the beach. We had tried calling in the afternoon but the owner didn't answer us; then he called back but I didn't hear the call. When I finally called back it was almost eight, too late to book. So he suggested we go to the restaurant anyway because he would give us the first table that became free. And so it was, after a five minute wait we sat down. The owner has the savoir faire of a starred restaurant despite the tavern being an unpretentious place. He is welcoming without being intrusive, affable without being affected, speaks several languages well and guides customers in choosing dishes. The mixed meze starter is delicious, the "sofrito" is excellent and the "pastitsio" is also good. At the end of the meal a bottle of grappa is brought to the table to be served at will. It's a shame to have to drive an hour and not be able to drink alcohol. The bill was really very low with a high quality-price ratio.

Dmitiris, the owner is a warm and charming host. The Taverna was originally his fathers and retains a family feel. with a lovely atmosphere sitting on the terrace under the vine. The food is good home cooking with fresh, carefully and locally sourced ingredients - the dishes are tasty and with decent sized portions. The house white wine was light and better than we had come to expect from Corfu wine. We went three times in the week we stayed and the daily specials meant that we didn't get bored.

Absolutely superb restaurant. The food is outstanding, with plenty of choice for vegetarians. The vegetarian moussaka is exceptional and the courgette keftedes are absolutely delicious. Wine was superb and locally made. Dimitris was a brilliant host and greeted me by name, as I had made a reservation (make sure to do this as they are fully booked every evening in high season) and the prices were very reasonable. Can't recommend enough.

We had the Moussaka, which was absolutely delicious! But the Sofrito was kind of a disappointment. It didn’t have the texture of a steak but more of a cube steak and was kind of tough to eat. It was also lacking flavor. But overall the service is super friendly and especially fast compared to other slow restaurants around.

This taverna is absolutely delightful. It doesn't have great views but its courtyard is as pretty as you will see anywhere. We didn't have a reservation but were kindly accommodated at a very nice table for two. Between us, we had bread with oil, olives, village sausage, moussaka and stuffed peppers. They were all delicious. There is nothing fancy about this food but it is absolutely authentic and generously portioned. As a side note, I am an olive obsessive and took real delight in the tiny home-grown olives. They were naturally salty and had a really addictive umami quality to them. With a half litre of wine and a litre of water, the bill came to about €42 which we regard as being outstanding value. The service is pleasant and efficient. The owner is remarkable: we heard him speaking four languages (English, German, French and Greek) with absolutely mesmerising fluency.

tried to get a table at 9pm was told to come back in 30 minutes, not a problem so went for a quick drink and returned at 10pm. plenty of tables to chose from. the sofrito was beautifull. had a long chat with the owner and decided to have another wine here instead of going to one of the bars. really enjoyable evening
