We got there early as didn't have a reservation and got a great table at the front. Views are fantastic and the setting is beautiful. The service was great, very attentive. Food was lovely, had seabass risotto, a must visit for skiathos, perfect for a...special occasion or romantic meal.More
We booked in advance online as we were told weekends tend to be booked out. It’s not a massive place and is up quite a few steps so be prepared! It’s not suitable for very young children or pushchairs. I’m not even sure some older...couples would make it up to be honest! No disrespect! As the tables are dotted around The Windmill most have amazing views. Also you can see the runway so if you like plane watching you will love this. Service was good, we had 2 waitresses most of the evening. We did see the owner Karen on arrival as she was stood at the top of the stairs. She also walked past our table a few times. She did not introduce herself which isn’t a problem but if it was my restaurant, I’d have smiled or just said hi. We all had the steak which was nice. We asked for it medium rare, it was more medium but it still melted in the mouth. Would have been 5 stars if it was a little pinker tho. We also ordered red wine and bread to start which was nice. Slight negative is it’s not signposted at all. We had to ask some local shops how to get to it. It’s not hard to put some signs on the various stairs and paths. Also ladies. No heels! The paths are slippy, bumpy and uneven. You’ll break your neck! Overall it was nice and I would return.More
Excellent meal the staff very helpful, my daughter has walking difficulties and the staff were on hand to help with her up and down the steps they even called a taxi for us when we was leaving. The food was exemplary we had the lamb...shank, was cooked to perfection. Would recommend this restaurant.More
Beautiful dinner at the 'honeymoon table', amazing views and would recommend the earlier sitting to see sunset. Good service and delicious food. Definitely one for an occasion meal.
a magnificient view but there are plenty of places in Skiathos with that. The most important ingredient to a good night out is the food and the ambience. The food was good, the young staff great but the owner who likes to be omnipresent left...us feeling very sad. She completely ignored us, even when being asked if it was possible to get a drink at the bar because we were early. We tried to say goodnight but again she blanked us. All in all she left us with a dreadful impression of what could have been a great restaurant. Not at all indicative of the island as a whole.More
Stunning view, close to the airport so can see the planes landing at close proximity. The food was delicious, lovely menu and great location. Staff were very attentive. Definitely recommend
A special restaurant with its views and location, nice service and good food, they really do their best, check the menu online before going.
Front of house owner, Karen I believe her name, completely ignored us on arrival even though she knew that as a minimum we would be spending £50 each .. as that is average price per head at the windmill .. horrified at her rudeness when...we had been sat for 10 minutes we tried to ask her if we could get a drink she totally blanked us and 100% knew we were sat there without a drink - she never acknowledged any customers all evening just sat in the corner eating - waiting staff were a delight feel sorry they have to work for her - chef was really friendly food top dollar .. sorry I put money in her pocket though - better views elsewhereMore
Excellent food and serivice for a special 50th birthday celebration. Amazing views from our table which all added to the occasion. Special thanks to Karen for arranging the birthday cake for us. The birthday boy was delighted with everything!
Don’t believe all is 5 star as rated in media and elsewhere! After a lengthy climb to reach this restaurant up infinite steep concrete steps port side, we arrived. During our ascent we encountered no signage confirming the location, other than keep looking up to...view it. On arrival we were welcomed and shown an area where we could have a drink and wait. After being seated we browsed the menu. Despite looking at the online menu and at the actual written one we were told there were no specials on offer. We chose starters and mains and as our mains came with couscous we declined this accompaniment and we were asked if we wanted something else instead and we both chose the roasted potatoes. We also asked that we could be allowed a break of around 15 minutes between courses. Our waitress said this would be ok. There was no amuse bouche or bread offered. Starters were presented well and tasted good. We overheard the waiter at the neighbouring table informing the guests that now their starters were finished their mains would be ready in 8 minutes! What?? We checked with him regarding our mains and asked him to confirm that once we had finished our starters we would have a 15 minute break as agreed. He then had to go and check and then confirmed. Our mains arrived on hot plates after only around 10 minutes! We both had chicken which was perfectly cooked, the potatoes we ordered were extremely dry and in our opinion had been cooked previously and then reheated, our side dish of vegetables consisted of about 4 thin slices of carrot and quite a few chunks of courgette. There was no jus or sauce to accompany this meal therefore the whole dish tasted extremely dry. The veg had not been buttered either. So all in all really not 5 star fine dining! On being presented with our bill it included a charge for the roasted potatoes! We questioned this and we were told the potatoes are a side dish and have a charge. We explained as to our agreed choice instead of the couscous and she had to go away and check with management. It was agreed so €11 were deducted from the bill! It appears the staff are supervised by very strict management clearly seen standing, taking note of proceedings, on duty and obviously insist on a tight ship! It was not a pleasant dining experience for us with a hefty bill. Overpriced for something clearly not meeting 5 star standards in our opinion. There are other beautiful restaurants in town with better food and more realistic prices. The only thing in The Windmill’s favour is the location ( if you can find it and get there) Over priced for very average food!More
We had the best meal ever everything was cooked to perfection the setting of the windmill Is amazing staff and details were faultless We ment the the chef and the owner it was nice to them to come and chat with us after our evening...Thank you again the Allen familyMore
A fancy restaurant in Skiathos. View is amazing and the staff super nice. A romantic place where dining with your partner
The view is really nice, I recommend to go there when it’s still daylight but even at night it is pretty. Food was very good too. For access there are quite a lot of stairs, definitely doable but to keep in mind
Breathtaking views from a stunning alfresco terrace, backed up with equally impressive food. Faultless cooking with both precision and great balance of flavours. To start we had garlic prawns on spinach with a cream sauce (daily special) and Calamari with a Parmesan crust, both of...which were excellent, especially the prawns. For mains we had Sea Bass fillet on beetroot risotto and Fillet of beef, fondant potato and asparagus with a delightful peppercorn sauce. So moreish. Whilst we didn’t really have room for dessert, it would have been churlish not to! A de-constructed Tiramasu and Classic crème brûlée rounded off a memorable evening. Service was fine, functional but not to the level of the food, but this in no way detracted. Personally (having worked my whole career in quality hospitality) I think that linen table cloths and napkins would add something to the quality statement, but it’s not a deal breaker! We will most certainly be back next time in Skiathos, thank you!More
