Great food. We went there twice, recommended by my uncle. Very good slow cooked meat dishes such as lamb, stifado... nice house red wine. Complimentary dessert was delicious and one of the best I ever had in Greece!

Whilst all the seafront restaurants close for winter and the owners scuttle back to Athens, the Beer stays open all year looking after the locals inside the large and dark interior. If you wander round inside there are lots pistols, shotguns and knives, even a cutlass and old prints of bygone wars with the Turks. If ever there was an... More

We had dinner in this tavern close to the small main square of kokkari. Location is lovely and well finished, staff is professional and very friendly, cooking is fantastic! They serve meat in many kind of preparation, all well cooked. We ate a traditional greek dish ( like stifado) and a grilled sovlaki, both fantastic. Meat is delicious and tasty.... More

We just dropped by after the beach, after passing it several nights(full restaurant). We did not get dissepointed. Very good service, and hard working waitress. The athmosphere under a big tree close to the brick building is cozy and relaxing, and you can sence the history of this place. The food, both souvlaki and beef in the oven was more... More

The Beer is fabulous - right in the centre of the village and really authentic Greek Taverna. The service is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. This year a group of us asked for a special menu and they were happy to oblige. Food here is great and really feels like home.

Typical tavern with a nice atmosphere specially when you´re outside enjoying the shadow provided by the old tree that covers all the patio. The food was really good and no doubt we had our best meal in Kokkari in this place.

We had read many excellent reviews of this taverna and finally decided to try it. The food was absolutely superb, so no complaints about that, but somehow the atmosphere seemed a little cold compared to other tavernas in the village, and the tables were packed very closely together. Not such a pleasant experience as we would have liked, but full... More

By visiting this place, you aren't sitting next to the beach (in fact: next to the main road). Anyways, a very charming place which seems like a place for local people. Great food, friendly staff. Try the stuffed chicken or the lamb on wine leaves!

We red about this place, so we tried it yesterday, but we were a little disapointed. And the prices at last were rather high! We paid over 50 euro for some wine, two meze and two fish plates. For this money you can get a lot better here in Kokkari where you also sit directly a side the sea.
