Love La Vigna

We come to Coral Bay 3 times a year and La Vigna is always our first evening meal. And probably another 2 or 3 visits during our stay. Staff are friendly and attentive and the food is always of a high standard.

Excellent pizzas

I had lunch at La Vigna on Sunday unfortunately I was the only customer they had, which was a shame as it was a lovely lunch. Proscuitto and melon to start, plenty of proscuitto and tasty melon. Followed by a lovely pizza which I tried my best ot eat it all, the waiter did say that if i'd ve asked they do a smaller sized pizza for people like me!!!

So, tonight I saw something I’ve never seen before anywhere, let alone Cyprus, and I was honoured to be sat at the next table, in La Vigna. A middle aged visually impaired couple were brought in to the restaurant from the street by the Maître d' - Oli. They had obviously been looking for somewhere to eat. Oli then proceeded with great understanding to help them select wine and water before reading the whole menu to them and answering questions as he went so they could choose their meals. They were obviously out looking for somewhere to eat in Coral Bay, but the care taken by Oli was extraordinary and humbling to witness. I eat here often all year round, and saw in the height of summer (so the busiest time and 100 + tables) some regulars get up and leave - not paying for wine and starters they had eaten & drunk because the next course was taking too long. Well, shame on you. I’ve eaten in hundreds of restaurants all over the world, but never did I see anything like the care I saw tonight. Maybe next time think, maybe just maybe there is someone that needs attention more than you. Bravo La Vigna, number 1 in Coral Bay. I Will be recommending for an award and I write this report on behalf of the visually impaired customers you had tonight, I don’t doubt they left happy. Totally irrelevant, but my dinner - truffle ravioli and fillet beef Diane was superb, prices have inevitably increased in every restaurant, but, why pay €34 for ordinary when for €39 you can have the dogs bollo&$ks ?? Brilliant restaurant, TOP CHEF, and fabulous caring staff.

Spent your time and money somewhere else

Even though we reserved, the table was not ready when we arrived. It took 50 minutes for a waiter to take our order and this seemed normal as they acted like nothing was happening, no apology or acknowledgement . Took long time between starters and main and then even after our main they totally ignored us on either asking if we want dessert or coffee as it was already late and they wanted to go home. Nobody asked how our dinner was and no farewell on our way out. We made quite a bill of 3 figures but no round up no chef's compliment or anything. Spent your money somewhere else who respect you as a customer

Food was excellent however basic service was missing. When I visit anywhere I don’t expect much however this was a let down. When we arrived we waited to be seated for ages as the waiter and waitress had a chat. Eventually we were taken to a table. We were then handed menus. 20 mins later someone came to take our orders. Drinks, starters and mains were ordered. 10 mins later starters arrived about 10 mins after we finished those our drinks arrived. Sadly they were not worth the wait. Very bland, may as well have been coloured soda water. We noticed that the staff were busy making friends with the tables of 4 and ignoring the tables of two. Mains arrived and were lovely. About 15 mins after we finished I had to chase someone to get the bill and they then cleared the table. A few lessons here. Don’t go if it’s just two of you, order drinks in bottles or cocktails from across the road. Mains are excellent but certainly should not take as long to produce as they did. Sadly it wasn’t busy there at that time so that’s not an excuse they can use.

Positive the waitress and waiter were fab and not there fault the food was not good apart from the man serving in a soaking wet white t-shirt full of swet and considering we ate early was not from being busy serving think he must have been kp .the food starters were good main poor the chicken taste like salmon so had obviously been next to fish in the fridge when sent back for chef to check he said it was fine rather than make the staff uncomfortable I said bring it back they did . Omg I have worked in restaurant trade for over 20 years and the fact they even let that come back after the chef had tried it I don't need to say anymore . Shocking

This has got to be the worst food ever

This has got to be the worst meal I’ve ever been served. The starter (melon with ham) was just slapped onto the plate and the main (linguine manzo) was inedible. The beef looked like it was dragged out of the bin and we had to send it straight back. I ended up going to Pizza Hut round the corner to get a somewhat decent meal. NEVER AGAIN.

Tonight was our first family night out on our holiday. There were 8 of us and the waiters did accommodate our larger table numbers. We were seated and our drinks order was taken, it was extremely hot and so we asked if we could have some bottled water for the table. Instead of this, they filled up individual glasses and then took the water away. Normally, this would not be an issue, however, due to the staff seeming and proving to be quite reluctant to check on the table or make any eye contact, we struggled to refill the glasses with water. We were then told that the restaurant was so busy that we would have to wait a slightly longer duration for food, we said that this was fine. 1 hour and 30 minutes later, we were served four out of our eight meals, with the last four meals intermittently arriving to the table across a further 15 minutes. The food was very tasty, which seemed to be the only positive that we could take away from the entire experience. We will absolutely not be returning and a recommendation of the staff smiling more often could be beneficial.

Worst italian ever visited

We ordered mushroom rissoto, pizza, and chicken pasta. Plates with risotto and pasta came very hot at the edges, indication of microwave. Sauces in the plates were also separated, and were like water, another indication of microwave. Chicken was inedible and if was blind i was not going to understand that risotto was a mushroom one. Pizza tasted like the supermarket pizza ( i believe it was made in house but tasted like supermarket, i am not implying that was bought from a supermarket). In general all foods were blunt and tasteless. Worst thing of all was the waiters. No one asked if we liked the food. When i took the initiative to give my feedback to a waiter she replied in an angry manner: " there is no microwave, hot plates are a result of the lamp equipment we have during the waiting time until the foods are served" She did not even bother discussing why we thought that food was not good. Just replied in an angry manner. I did not know that this lamp equipment is separating the sauces. I always thought that its purpose is to keep plates warm,not hot.

Nothing special, very bland and not “fresh pasta”

Not as good as expected. Pre booked online, no confirmation of booking, but they had our booking and table ready. Service was ok to start, but got slower and slower as the evening went on. Had to remind staff that one of our starters was missing, this was then brought out to us. There were only 4 king prawns, which, for the price was not much at all. The lasagne was tasteless, it even tasted like it had been frozen and defrosted, it was smaller than the dish it was served in, so possibly cut from a larger tray and put in the dish to heat up, rather than being made in the dish. The rest of our meals were pretty tasteless, nothing tasted fresh. After our mains were cleared a desert menu was given, but it was over 30 minutes before the order was taken and that was because we had to call someone over to take the order. It then took over 30 minutes for the desert to be served. The restaurant was busy, but no where near full. The staff were ok, but not very attentive, never asked us if our food was ok (we would have advised them the pasta was awful, but didn’t get a chance as there were no staff to tell) which let them down. Not somewhere I would recommend or go back to.

We stayed in Paphos for a week and ate here twice, it is that good. The service is lovely, the staff are super friendly and help you decide when stuck what to order (which you will be as there is so much choice!) to start, the garlic mushrooms are packed with flavour, the garlic bread is the perfect balance of garlic and cheese and the aubergine parmigiana was the tastiest one i have ever had. For mains, the veal Milanese was a real treat, the panko breadcrumbs set the tone for the dish and the spaghetti was the perfect accompaniment to it. The pizza is huge, and super cheesy with a minimal crusty crust! If you like a kick then ask for the chilli oil to dip, I asked if they sold it as it is so delicious I wanted a bottle of my own! We didn’t have room for dessert but can only imagine it won’t disappoint. 10/10 for this beautiful find in Coral Bay!

Staff could be friendlier

Visited coral bay for the day, went here for dinner. We had wedding dinner here 7 years ago so nice to return. The restaurant was busy but not overly so. Seemed to be a lot of waiting staff, however service was a little slow and staff not too friendly, kind of aloof. I had prawn risotto, which was nice but feel €23 is steep considering 5 prawns and no sides. My wife had whole seabass with potato slices and salad, it was cooked perfectly, however again €22 more expensive than other restaurants in the area. My mum had lasagne which came with side salad, she enjoyed it. To summarise, good food but slightly over priced and service could be improved and staff could make more of an effort.

A very pleasant evening

Just had a meal with my husband at La vigna and it won't be the last. Excellent menu with a variety which suits all tastes. Service was attentive and prices reasonable. I loved my veal with spaghetti and my husband requested a different veal dish and it was equally very tasty. Would recommend this place.

Never go there ever …..

It’s the kind of restaurant you regret choosing . You wait for someone to take your order while seating. When you receive your food : pizzas, the crust is dry not like a real Italian one, no bubbles on the dough here. But when you receive the invoice this is the big surprise they charge me for something i didn’t choose . i have asked to add a topping on a pizza and they charge me as it was what they called a special order 😒 (3 toppings). When i have asked the waiter he told me that was them policy …..they have an excel sheet as a policy instead a of a costumer care, they know that thème costumières are tourists ….avoid them

Tasty Italian food and friendly welcoming team

Lovely Italian - we had a change in plans and asked for a table at around 7.30 on a Saturday and they managed to get us seated without a reservation for what was a busy night, which was appreciated! Food was excellent, we had stuffed mushrooms, garlic bread and chicken wings for starters which all tasted great. For mains we had spaghetti al’olio, chicken Milanese and lasagne - delicious and piping hot to the table. Service was so friendly and attentive, would definitely recommend (booking recommended on weekends).
