Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the second time I've been here and it did not disappoint. Very basic food but very tasty. The setting is out of this world and yes the road is worst now than the first time I went and I definitely need the wine...when I got there and more wine to make the journey back bearable but I wouldn't have missed it for the world. The family that run it are lovely and very friendly. I have now got a permanent reminder in being able to by a carafe for my wine at home.More

We drove there from Paphos in our hire care and we’re slightly wary due to the comments regarding the road conditions. So we parked at the nearby church (Matrona) and walked the remaining 2Km…..hot and sweaty but worth it…..see later! We arrived one hour earlier...than our booking (no problem at all) and were given a very warm / friendly welcome and offered a table overlooking the sea….gorgeous view. The drinks come out immediately and the food from the set chicken, pork or mix of both within 5 minutes with fantastic monumental size chips and a Greek salad. It is quite a large amount of meat (no complaints here) and we were able to eat, drink, relax, and enjoy the views for well over an hour. The benefit of walking is that not more than 300m back walking to our car, we discovered that the entry to the Avakas Gorge…..what a beautiful and stunning further 3km walk that is. If you are ever in this area do both and don’t worry too much about the road qualityMore

Amazing restaurant, serving a set menu, sat underneath grape vines looking out to what can only be described as utterly breathtaking view. Truly memorable experience, don’t be put off by the drive up. Plenty of people driving hire cars to the restaurant. We hired a...4x4 buggy from golden cap rentals for €100 for the day. We made a day of driving along the off-road coastal track to lara bay, watched turtle hatching, swam in turquoise warm waters, admire rugged untouched coast line. Then turned around and went for lunch. Lunch was €15 per head for food and worth every penny if not I think it was too cheap. Cannot recommend enoughMore

Ok, so we are big fans of Viklari (Last Castle). We must have been almost 100 times over the past 20 years. So yesterday was just another - except it wasn’t!! It was the best ever 🙃 The pork was outstanding, the salad crisp and...fresh, potatoes always good. Beautiful weather and such a warm welcome from the whole family, especially Zacharoula. We will be back very soon.More

This wasn’t our first trip to the last castle viklari but it will be our last, firstly the road which is a new diverted route while they are doing works on the existing to get to the restaurant is like something out of the Hills...have Eyes, it isn’t suitable for all cars and quite dangerous, not a great road at all I must say.!! On arrival we was seated looking over the land and sea which I must say is a fantastic view. I order the mixed meat dish which is a piece chicken and a piece of pork, not bad, pork was a bit fatty though. My partner who’s veggie had the bean dish which was very bland and cold. The bread portions have been reduced too plus the salad bowl needs a bit of life put into it, no feta or onion..very basic. The annoying bit about this restaurant is that there is no menu and no bill which doesn’t show the prices. Bit of a joke really as you don’t know what you are being charged for! We have visited Viklari several times in the past but this will be our last because the price is slightly underwhelming. You get a hell of a lot more elsewhere in Pegia.More

Simple but delicious menu of bbq meat, chips, salad and bread. We had a mix of both chicken and pork which were really tasty, generous portion sizes and then of course the view is the absolute highlight! The road to get there is not the...easiest to navigate and certainly wouldn't be suitable for some cars, however it's definitely worth the trip!More

This is a must for everyone, the meat, salad and potatoes are superb, and the setting and views even better. Booking is advised to get the best views. It is one of our favourite places to go.

We have been to Cyprus on many occasions but have never been. We surprised our son, daughter-in-law and youngest granddaughter by turning up during their two week break. They had bookef the restaurant for lunch so they increased the numbets and went for Sunday Lunch....The staff were lovely and the food excellent. No menu they just bring you the food. The pork and chicken were both succulent and so tasty. We had the local wine. The views are great. Lovely afternoon. Will be back next year.More

Open 12 until 5. Great hilltop location with mature grape vines as shade and the breeze from the sea keeps you cool. Picturesque traditional Cypriot taverna. No menu just BBQ lunch on offer which is perfect and they do very well. Chicken/Pork, big chips (massive...and tasty), salad, to finish you get to eat some of the ripened washed Grapes that grow overhead. Will definitely be back next time I'm in cyprus.More

Recommend to us by an expat staggering beautiful stetting We had to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up the hill to get to it but it was worth it. You need a 4x4 to reach the car park But what a...experience when you get there. The view! The setting ! A real experience. The food was great set menu but loverly. The house wine not bad. We ordered fish in advance for one of out party Tremendous value considering they got you by the short and curlies . It not easy to get to but so worth it Do the gorge walk first to work up a appetite. a place you will remember for the rest of your lifeMore

No menu to choose from and you eat what is placed in front of you, but I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. Chicken, pork, salad and potato wedges cooked to perfection. It was soo good we went back again the following week. And when...family came to visit there was no hesitation in taking them too. The drive to the restaurant is memorable but only adds to the experience.More
