My wife and I ate here last night. Very busy even at 18.00 so glad we had booked. Genuine feel of Italy and superb food. Big portions too! Very friendly service and great atmosphere but don't go here for a quiet romantic night out. Your...proposal may be misunderstood. Highly recommend it.More

A family run Italian restaurant serving authentic cuisine. We had pizza and pasta. Seemed to be very popular with the locals. Would recommend if you’re in the area.

On a short break we decided to try alessi restaurant. The place had a busy atmosphere. They asked us if we could return in half an hour which we did. All the staff were friendly & helpful. We didn’t have starters or desserts only mains....I had pollo Bella Mia and the sauce was possibly the best I’ve ever had really good nice portion of chicken . I had chips & salad but you could have veggies & potatoes. My friends had cannelloni & lasagne it was piping hot and they ate the lot both saying it was delicious. We met giovanni what a lovely guy we would definitely return only wish we had taken some photos !More

Absolutely love this place! Great atmosphere and amazing food. Staff really friendly. It’s a must to visit every time we come to Saltburn.

Great staff, friendly, efficient even when they are really busy. The food is always hot and tasty. Recommend others to eat here. Early bird deals for pizza and pasta make it even better value.

Called at 5pm on Monday to see if they had a table for 4 adults, 9 children and a baby and they could fit us in there and then! Service was fantastic, food was delicious with very large portions, price was very reasonable, all round...happy children & mums, a great find!More

With a near 5 star review, one would have thought the experience was excellent. Sadly we had quite the opposite. It's clearly a popular place as it was overcrowded. The food we did get was excellently made. But the rest of the experience was appalling....The welcome was like we were a nuisance. Then we were sat at a number of 2 seater tables crammed into the same room as a couple of parties. It was astonishingly noisy to the point my gf and I were unable to hold a sensible conversation. We never saw the same member of staff twice (except when we got the bill) with no check back on the meal. There was an incident where the party group moved their helium balloons and they got caught in the ceiling fans causing the waitress to fall back into me. No apologies were forthcoming. Indeed, there were three further moments where I had to lean out of the way to avoid my Personal space being invaded. As I said: clearly popular venue. But it's a victim of it's own success. Too busy without having the discrimination to have less tables and better service. Extremely disappointed and rather spoiled our date night sadly.More

We found this place on the off chance while staying nearby on holiday. We arrived just after opening time as a family of 6. We were seated immediately and shortly after were asked if we required drinks, the drinks arrived and our food order was...taken. The food arrived hot, plentiful and absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. Absolutely no complaints from us. Would love to return if we didn’t live 300+ miles away but if we are ever in the area we’ll be back 😊More

We popped in on the off chance we may get a table (we hadn't booked)! Asked the head waiter, well he looked in charge, and he gave us option of a table in the corner as long as we were eaten by 7.30pm as he...was expecting a party. Our reply, well depends how quickly you can serve us then, challenge is on your service! It was extremely busy and noisy, several birthday parties and kids included. Service was OK, not much conversation with waiters, but we'd eaten in the time we were given. May give it a 2nd chance if we get to move to Saltburn in the future.More

We’d heard this was one of the best restaurants in Saltburn and so booked on a Thursday night. It was reasonably busy but they had lots of staff. We were sat in a corner and then broadly forgotten about - no drinks order taken on...arrival, managed to order main courses but not offered desserts or more drinks after that. Other than asking for the bill our only interaction with staff after ordering our mains was when the young lad who collected our plates said “was that alright” in the most uninterested way possible. Food was actually good - my wife had the chicken and mushroom pancakes and I had penne Arrabiatta (which slightly oddly had chopped pepperoni in it). Deserts might well have been good too, but as indicated they didn’t seem keen to offer them!More

Great food, reasonably priced......but the staff were a real miserable bunch. Yes they were busy, but a friendly welcome and occasional smile wouldn't hurt. We felt like we were unwelcome.

Called here one evening with friends for the happy hour menu. Had the tagliatelle slim and it was lovely. Good service, tasty food and a reasonable price. Will call again
