Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Overpriced sandwich with cold pulled beef. 35 pounds for 2 sandwiches and two coffees, including a service charge even though we had take away. Staff not welcoming. Amazing view, so that was worth it.

Visited twice during our week's holiday, once just for a drink & once for a sandwich. Food & service was good & great to be able to take the dogs in with us.

On a lovely afternoon we stopped for a drink a d to take advantage of the peerless view. I went for a terrace table and my wife went in to the bar whereupon she was shooed out rather brusquely. Fair enough Co-vid causes many problems...like this but people don't deliberately set out to upset staff. A couple sat down at an adjacent table and asked for coffee and cake. This was juts after 4 o'clock and they were told, also brusquely, that food stopped at 4. I wanted an ice cream and asked what flavours were available. The waitress didn't know. I said I noticed there were two that contained whisky flavour and she was unable to help saying people normally hleped themselves to the tubs so she was unaware of the stock. Remember my wife has just been told that people weren't welcome inside. I said I'd take whatever whisky one came to hand and the waitress huffed off. We stopped here because of reputation. Staff have to be careful that they realise they are responsible for upholding this even on bad day. Unfortunate.More

Dined in the Bistro along with my dog who was quite happy under the table while I enjoyed steak, scallops & roast chicken with bacon mash potatoes

The Bistro as a sit down venue has not opened after lockdown but you can still get food to take out and eat on the lovely area overlooking the loch. The main restaurant is doing a composite menu which is really good.

This cafe is tucked in at the side of the Loch Melfort Hotel literally on the entrance path to Arduaine Gardens. An ideal place to stop off for coffee or a light lunch (wraps soup etc) before you go in or as you leave the...Gardens.. If the weather is fine you can take your takeaway food round the corner and admire the fabulous view out over the islands. There is also a playground for under 12s Dogs welcome.More

Ate at The Bistro over 2 evenings. Good choice of food on the menu - a nice relaxed restaurant with modern decor and a lovely view over the loch. Would recommend the Haggis Nachos and battered fish which was huge ! Staff are friendly and...helpful.More

Very functional eatery, like a good staff canteen. Pine tables and chairs all a little close together. Food was O.K.but not outstanding.

We shared a lovely lunch outside here. My mussels were delish, however my husband, who had dairy and egg allergies, had a hard time ordering. They found his allergies difficult to accommodate and he ended up with a plain ham sandwich. Inside is a little...loud and diner-like. Outside was beautiful but windy.More

Our friends invited us here. What a surprise, the place is quite small but cozy and the view is beautiful. Everything what we have ordered was superb, very tasty and plenty. I would love to go back.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere with views across the beautiful loch and islands. Nice variety, including lots of seafood (on the specials board) and the veggie food was great, a bit different to the usual med veg stuff you get. Staff were friendly and helpful.
