Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Enjoyed a nice lunch here (mussels, cullen skink and good fish/chips). The ambience is ok, but this place is let down by the staff. Took an age to get a menu (staff busy catching up on their Saturday night antics) and had to overhear the...loudest one of them telling the entire restaurant about their gall bladder problems and recent trip to the dentist (not really what you want to hear as you eat your lunch).More

Fabulous spot for lunch, the views alone are worth another visit if we can fit it in. We had lunch here so only had sandwiches but they came well prepared and presented. Friendly and helpful staff.

We celebrated our daughter’s 11th birthday with a meal here. The god was great, the staff were amazing and what a place!!! With a bit of pre planning they provided a cake, candles and singing staff (and customers)! A truly memorable occasion. Menu has something...for everyone. Highly recommend.More

The Isle of Seil is worth the drive. If you make it to the end, you will reach the Oyster. I had soup and brown bread for lunch, but the scenery is reason enough to come. It was a bonus that the Seil scarecrow festival...was going on.More

I regularly order mussels anywhere I go if they are on the menu. The mussels at the Oyster Bar and Restaurant were amongst the best I have tasted anywhere. I highly recommend them. I can’t wait to taste the langoustines when I go back there.

Sat out the back inthe beer garden overlooking the sea, cold beers were spot on in the sunshine with a good selection of real ales. We also ate, mussels as a starter were excellent as were the bar meals.

Stunning. First off, we were extremely lucky with the weather - see photos. My wife and I checked out the sunset the evening before as the bar was closing for the night. We decided we had to come for lunch the next day. Considering that...there's a very windy road into Ellenabeich across the Isle of Seil, it's well worth it Staff were great although it was extremely busy, so they didn't have much time to stand and chat. From a food perspective, there's an emphasis on seafood...surprise surprise. But it appears as if most fresh food is sourced very close to the location, which is always a good thing to see. Highly recommend but booking maybe required, especially on a clear day...More

It’s the only pub in the village but that’s not a problem! Reserve a table because it’s a small kitchen and it can’t handle too many orders at once. Order the langoustines Definitely order the waffles for dessert. Ask for a whisky recommendation. Makes for...a happy night at a simple, great local pub and restaurant.More

This is a pathetic place.. some days back I was at this place and the venue had a live band playing and some customers were bugging the singer constantly but singer obliged and continue his performance but by the end the customers started thrashing and...beating the singer for not entertaining their repeated requests. The management did not intervene and the good for nothing bouncers stood like stupid and watched it all happing. Not sure what happened later but I was scared and would suggest people to not go here cos you really don't know if something like this happens then will the management will ever try to help anyone. PATHETIC BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT. NEVER VISITING AGAIN.More

This is clearly for a different venue, or a bot, or someone with a gripe. Regardless it’s a load of nonsense and doesn’t relate to our establishment We do not have bouncers at our place, and any music we’ve had has never had any problems...More

My wife and I booked this restaurant before going on the Corryvrekan Whirlpool Special RIB trip. We are so glad we booked as practically every table was taken and this was at 18:00. We can honestly say it was the best Fish n Chips ever!!!...Fabulous fresh fish, lovely fresh peas and great chips. A great choice of beers too!! We would recommend this lovely little restaurant to anyone - but do book!!!More
