My husband and I were passing this pub and decided to pop in for food. It was approximately 4.30pm. The menu we were provided with was limited but sufficient for our needs. There was an afternoon tea option and high tea option. We opted for a meal. I asked for the gammon steak and my husband ordered the steak pie.... More

Booked in for food on our way home - loved the decor, atmosphere, friendly, efficient, professional staff. All of the food was freshly made and very tasty and presented beautifully. A particular hit was the surf n turf, wow!! We will be back.

Went to the Sun Inn about 4/5 years ago and thought, this is Michelin star quality but outside of the city. Went back recently and thought that it was no more than a decent gastro pub but prices were too high for the food we received. Also watch out for "deals" on sites like itison as when you book, it... Had a meal with my husband, food was 1st class so well done to the chef! Ambiance superb and well worth a visit although awkward to get to without a car in my opinion as at a difficult junction, spotlessly clean and would certInly visit again. Only critics is could do with more than the one small piece of bread... More

We visited this place yesterday for Sunday lunch. It was very busy which is always a good sign, and although we took our time trying to find a space (car park needs serious work done on it) we managed to finally slot the car in. Walking in, the narrow hallway is clean, fresh and covered in awards certificates. Another good... More

First night out in along time. Service was friendly polite and prompt. Food was delicious. I had lobster risotto to start which was fabulous my husband had cold meat platter. Then onto the main pork in serra serrano ham and cod with haggis neep & tatties. Pudding were a joy even though not essential as we were full but so... More

This Inn has a great reputation for locally source food but is now suffering from its own success. It is essential especially at the weekend to pre-book a table. They are currently completing a large extension but it has not yet had a positive impact on the very overcrowded main restaurant. The tables are very close together, the numbers being... More

I have been multiple times and have been impressed all the time. New bar is small but the food is great, air dried steaks, game dishes and sea food. Wine is making be on the expensive side but is still good, and they have a good range of spirits and beers

Out for family meal for special occasion and came away rather disappointed with the visit. Table not ready when we arrived and asked to wait in new bar area which was OK. However we waited about 20 minutes before table was ready. Asked for bread and olives for 4 but the olives were in short supply. Certainly a lot less... More
