Just visited the Ham & Cheese and will definitely go back ! Good choice on menu, we had steak and ale pie with a suet lid, full of lovely tender steak and proper home made chips ! Cheesecake to follow which was really nice as well. Nice friendly atmosphere, dog friendly in the bar area, would definitely recommend a visit... More

The Ham & Cheese at Scagglethorpe is such an amazing place, Claire and Shaun the Landlord and Landlady meet you with a smile, the pub is warm and inviting with real coal fires, the menu is fab with a Varanasi of dishes, but as well as all this they also have a curry night, Sunday roast and other themes. You'd... More

This pub is set within a small rural village and is relatively small but well presented and well decorated . There as steps to the front of the entrance which I did find difficult but I couldn't see a ramp entrance. The eating area is set away from the bar and is I feel slightly cramped. The pub is also... Lovely atmosphere - we sat in front of the fire with a drink before lunch on a cold afternoon. Food was great and such good prices too, and large portion sizes. Will definitely be returning.

The fish pie with crusty bread was too die for, the best fish pie i've had in a very long time. The sauce was cooked to perfection not to runny, not to thick just right. The fish was too die for and the crusty bread was no exaggeration, it was stunning. Would definitely recommend 10 out of 10. Will definitely... More

Visited on a midweek lunch time and it was a good decision! The chap behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly, happy to chat and make recommendations off the menu! We had a lasagne and steak pie and both were large portions and home made!! Extremely good value for money and tasted delicious! They have the balance of atmosphere,... More

Fab meal here for my birthday tonight. The lasagne was one of the best I've had and my daughter said her falafel with salsa and rice were one of the best meals she has had anywhere. Followed by lovely puds. Served by an extremely polite young man (Dan I think). Brilliant service and food in a lovely country pub. Highly... More

We booked into the Ham and Cheese for three nights in February after reading the reviews. We love country pubs and on first arrival thought that maybe as this one had been opened out completely it might have lost it's character. We were greeted by Dom behind the bar who was very pleasant and showed us to our room (2).... More

Great food, atmosphere and staff, stopped off for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed the place is a gem, open fire was burning, Guinness was flowing and food was great. We were made very welcome by the owner and staff and would highly recommend this. If we are in the area again we would definitely re-visit.
