Difficult to understand why there is no vegetarian option on the menu. The staff member responded by saying that this was a frequent complaint. So why not do something about it? The ploughmans course offered as the only option was very uninspiring and our vegetarian attempted it but failed to gain any pleasure from two lumps of cheddar, a wally... More

Not a bad meal all home cooked and fresh. My starter was nice crispy squid but my main (crab linguini) lacked flavour and I'm at a loss as to how that's possible with the ingredients stated on the menu!! This needs looking at. I didn't complain and did eat most of the meal to be fair. I also had a... More

Been wanting to try here for lunch for a while now and today I'm really pleased we did. The pub is really cosy and has a nice atmosphere to it. There's a great choice on the menu and it was hard to choose. I decided on the lamb shank which was really tasty. My husband had the beer battered haddock... More

Came here Saturday afternoon. Run by young girls who are far from interested in delivering a good service. Food is average at best, boring menu and clearly no thought or innovation has gone into the menu. Chips were dry, ploughmans was full of cheap ingredients, chicken was dry and so on and so on. Never going back...over hyped and poor

Excellent meal. Haddock in Adnams Beer batter, very tasty. Finished off with Cheesecake and a cup of cappacino. I am staying in my camper at Battlesbrige Antique centre just around the corner so could be a regular at this pub for the next few days.

Stopped off for lunch and found a large choice on the menu, I went with one of their sandwiches, chunky granary bread and a side salad, very good and filling, my wife selected a jack potato and it was the largest potato we had ever seen, needless to say I had to help her eat it, very friendly staff, very... Wow! They catered for a large group. We booked a table for 10 for our Easter Lunch. With less than a full day's notice, we contacted The Barge Inn as we had a celiac who is lactose intolerant and a Vegan/Gluten free person who would be dinning with us. They advised us they were able to customise various mains so... More

How an earth can you call your dopey, stupid witless, unintelligent meaningless moronic comment, a 'review'. We have absolutely no idea or details of what could possibly have upset you soooo much. If your going to attempt a hatchet job, do try to get it right. You should mention things like, the chips were soggy, the steak tough, the pie... More

Haven't been in the barge for about 20 years but had a lovely lunch off the lunch menu which was quite reasonable. The normal menu seemed a bit overpriced but was looked good quality. Staff were very friendly and polite.
