Good in parts

We decided to order a carry-out for delivery, rather than eat in the restaurant, which was probably a mistake. The person who took our order over the phone didn’t seem to understand the menu, mispronounced or confused almost every item, and still got it wrong...when reading back the list. Nevertheless, it all arrived. The starters that we ordered (onion bhaji and veg pakora) were barely lukewarm on arrival, but were nice all the same. For mains we took the vegetarian korma and palak paneer, which were both very tasty, plus the tarka daal, which was too bland for our taste. The peshwari naan had not travelled well, and seemed leathery: I was a bit put off by the unnecessary red colouring of the filling, which was dry and sparse. For eat-in this would probably have been a very nice meal.More

Family lunch

Excellent business lunch as usual. The food was delicious and extremely tasty. Fast, efficient and friendly service. The best restaurant anywhere. We are always more than pleased with our food.

Birthday Lunch

A truly excellent experience! Booked out the back room for a lunch buffet for my mums 60th for around 40 of our friends and family. It was fabulous. Staff were excellent and everyone raved about the delicious food. Can't wait to come again x

Amazing as always

Not the best

I ordered fish and chips because the rest of my family enjoy Indian cuisine. It was honestly the worst. It was a half plate of chips and a frozen over cooked bit of fish. It was served on a small plate with no trimmings such...as salad lemon or anything else. I left it because it wasn't good. Never againMore

Amazing food. Five star

Amazing food...really the best Indian we have enjoyed. Lovely staff great drinks and the owner recommending different dishes to try which were amazing. Ghurka lager so well suited to the cuisine. Definitely be back.

Brilliant

Visited motherland for the first time and cant wait to return.Great food and service the owner even came and spoke to us to see if everything was up to scratch-and it was. AlsoThe place is spotlessly clean.

Amazing - A must try

Visited for the first time today. Food was anazing - it was very tasty and spices were spot on. Chicken and veg pakora was really nice as was the pakora sauce Chicken Tikka curry was was just perfect and Chicken Chasni was really good too....Loved the naan bread, could have had two. We could have easily had ate same two meals again. Staff were really nice, especially the owner who was very jolly and welcoming. Well done guys, we will be back soon.More

Best Indian in Ayrshire

Was there for the 2nd time last night and it was absolutely brilliant. The sizzling chicken tikka starter was the best I've ever tried before. Food was simply delicious and the service to go along with it is fantastic, the whole staff were lovely. 10/10!

Very busy

Very busy Saturday night. Staff did their best but it was very noisy and slow service. Disappointed in our starters but mains were good. Vegetable samosas were stodgy with thick pastry and little flavour. Nan was very large and a bit undercooked in parts. If...we return it would be on a week night and I would choose my starter carefully.More

One of the very best

Probably the best Indian restaurant in Ayrshire and definitely one of the best in Scotland. Attention to detail and nice ambience coupled with attentive service makes this gem a must visit for any curry lovers
