We have visited the pub on a few occasions a year or 2 ago and were so impressed with the garden area for families with children. We recently decided to take our 2 grandchildren for a meal and play, we very extremely disappointed when we...arrived the garden is awful and non inviting such a let down form the wonderful garden we sat in before. The service is non table service, you have to go into the pub to order food and drinks, however they have the cheek too charge a service fee!! Food was ok nothing special and overpriced. we went for an impromptu dinner. Barman was very welcoming- couldnt fault his service at all. meal was well presented, and very tasty - service from waiting staff was ok, maybe needed some direction, as meals were sat waiting for them to take to tables...a few minutes longer than maybe should have. one thing to note- when paying for the bill, we didn't get any receipt or itemised bill,(so your able to check it) its a very small detail but one i think a lot of people would like. definitely will be back.More

Late celebrations for a family member. Pre-booked the table & pre-ordered our Main Courses. 15 of us. Including one baby. My two children ordered adult portions, which were very generous sizes. Myself & my partner ordered a Roast dinner each, I choose Lamb & my...partner went for Beef. The Roast dinner was accompanied with Roast Potatoes, Green Cabbage, Carrots & Cauliflower Cheese with a large Yorkshire Pudding on the top, covered in a Red Wine Gravy (which was lovely & rich). My children (aged 10 & 13years old), had the adult Fish, Chips & Peas. The Fish was Haddock & my 13year old thoroughly enjoyed it. His portion was very large, so you definitely won’t go hungry! My daughter got The Hog Father, which is a BBQ Pulled Pork burger with fries & salad. I tried a bit of the pulled pork, it was very tasty! Overall, brilliant portion sizes. Enjoyed the meal, which was cooked lovely. The service was good for a busy Sunday. Even with live music outside in the large pub garden. Myself & the kids, pushed for extra room so that we could try the Waffle with syrup & Blueberry Compote, with a Vanilla Ice Cream. It was very delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone if passing or local.More
