Couldn't fault the staff so nice and friendly and very attentive. Very clean but unfortunately the food today was very poor. Me and another family member for the Vol au vants, they were tasteless and got very little chicken and ham in them. The chips...were bearly cooked and the mash was rock hard. So dissapointed and didn't have the heart the say it when they asked was everything ok? Because it actually wasn't but the staff were lovely. Have been to the old stand many times and never had a bad meal but today was very disappointing. Don't know would I return again.More

We had our daughters christening party here of approx. 20 adults & children and we cannot recommend the place enough. Francesca & Freddy were a pleasure to deal with and couldn't do enough for us. Food & Drink was really good and everyone had nothing...only compliments for the whole the food, staff and venue. Thanks again to everyone at the Old Stand.More

Good food lovely as always, staffs moods have changed not the same atmosphere as before, no atmosphere whatsoever no music or anything in the background. I have eaten here with family on numerous occasions but yesterday wasn’t a pleasant experience. We had a 3 course...meal given to us within 1 hour. No space between meals to allow for a drink or food to digest a little. We were a little disgusted with the lack of conversation between staff and customers and the food came out a way too quick. The cutlery was just put on a plate and up on the table. No setting it or anything for us. There was no sanitising of equipment and menus like before which was another let down. A member of our group also ordered a steak medium well and it came out more on the rare side. I hate reviewing this place like this as it was always a go to for me but because of yesterday I’ll be slow at returningMore

We've eaten here numerous times. The food is almost always very good - some misses, but nothing to be dramatic about. What makes this place very special are the amazing staff - and that's why I'm giving it a full five stars. The staff really...are all, without exception, fantastic, As customers, we really felt valued. All of the staff act as one to give the best impression possible of The Old Stand. We visited the Old Stand on 12th December for an evening meal. Myself and my husband have visited previously a couple of times and didn't really rate it. However, since its reopening I must say what a fantastic evening we had, and felt I needed...to review it. The staff went over and above to make us feel welcome, the food was delicious, and there was a great choice on the new menu. The place has been done up to a high standard and I think the new look and seating arrangement works so much better, it's cosy and very very welcoming. Just 1 thing I wanted to mention, please don't feel you need to apologise for following current government guidelines, anybody visiting this sort of establishment should do so knowing that restrictions are in place everywhere, and shouldn't question or be "put out" by the new way we have all had to adapt. Trust me, your 1 way system, social distancing practices, availability of hand sanitisers and the staffs understanding of how to keep people safe really is second to non, and the little details such as the waiters and waitresses wearing gloves to place crockery and napkins onto the tables, and signs to inform us our table was fully sanitised were recognised and didn't go unnoticed. It's genuinely one of the most efficiently run COVID safe places I've been to recently. We honestly felt very safe in your care. I’ve been to the old stand plenty of times and it has never failed too impress me as someone who would eat out often. There food is so reasonably priced fresh and delicious and they are definitely more than generous with it there is one...waiter a man who could not be nicer I do not know his name but he is one of the most helpful friendly waiters I’ve ever come across no complaintsMore

We had the pleasure of celebrating our daughters first Holy communion here recently. I have to say it was the making of a great day. Everything from our very first contact to book the date to a warm farewell when we were leaving contributed to...a great experience. The food was amazing, all our guests were full of compliments. The staff were so polite, accommodating and helpful. The service was amazing. My daughter was treated like a princess. The staff were really genuine and friendly but professional. The premises were extremely clean including the toilets. There isn't one negative thing to mention. We are looking forward to dining here again soon and will definitely book for future family occasions. Thanks to Mary, Helena and all the staff for making our daughters day such a memorable one.More

We visited with our cousins, this is our second visit and enjoyed it as much as our first visit. The food was lovely, tasty and a good portion size The lady who served us was very pleasant, friendly and had a great sense of humour....We were not rushed during our meal, and there was a good wait between courses. The cost of 4 adult meals with a dessert each was very reasonable as well I strongly recommend The Old Stand for a meal. It was fantastic 😋😋More
