About
The newly renovated Merlins Cave is located in the heart of Chalfont St Giles on the Village Green, a beautiful village only a few minutes drive from the M40 and M25. Merlin's Cave has been rejuvenated into a beautiful country pub, with an all-fresh food restaurant and a bar serving hand-crafted beers from the cask or bottle. As well as our uniquely designed restaurant and bar, which draw their character from the stunning countryside which surrounds us, we also put the magic back into our garden which, incidentally stretches down to the River Misbourne. Food is served: Monday to Thursday: 11am - until 10:00pm Friday & Saturday: 1pm until 10:00pm Sunday: 1pm until 9pm

The Merlin’s Cave is situated in the centre of the attractive old village of Chalfont St Giles, and being adjacent to the lovely valley along which the Misbourne runs, is in an ideal location. The pub also has a good beer garden and children’s play...More

I have spent a few meals here and love the location. Food has always been very good but a little pricey. The pub is very dog friendly.

The building and decor are wonderful but we go for food and that is very average. Prices are above average Mussels and burger were over cooked and the portion size not big. I asked for extra cheese but it did not arrive especially when there...More

Very good welcome as we entered; the waitress was attentive and helpful; the menu was good and included a special 'three roast special'. Wine list was also good, with some special wines like Gavi available by the glass. The starters were also good, steamed mussels...More

Since it's amazing refurbishment a few years ago the food here has been very hit or miss. I've actually been to a couple of group events here and the food and service at these times has been fantastic. We popped in for a family meal...More

All we wanted was a sandwich each and a drink. Not too difficult. We ordered rare beef (that's what the menu stated) and a 'posh fish finger' sandwich on granary bread (which they also offered). No granary bread just sliced packet brown bread. What came...More

We were visiting Chalfont St Giles, looking for family roots. Were encouraged to look into Merlin's Cave by a local and entered at a quiet time for a 5 pm "high tea". The restaurant was quiet and hence we had the undivided attention of the...More
