Appalling. Waited 15 minutes for a drink. It then took an hour for 2x Brie an Bacon sandwich which was full of fat and the fries Stone cold. Never again. Service was shocking and been serviced better food in Mcdonalds.

A birthday lunch for a friend. Excellent food and service. I enjoyed the rabbit stew, delicious. My friend had chicken and pancetta. Both well presented.
Thank you Su. I hav epassed your comments on to the kichen team .
Great service and food, fair amount of choices to suit all palettes. Love the fact they have on site parking and are dog friendly. Will definitely be coming back for more
We look forward to seeing you again soon
£14.95 for egg and chips £12:95 for packet lasagna Absolute shocking - glass of wine and a beer £44 quid - shambles Apart from that the interior had the makings of a nice boozer.
I chose this venue as it offered SP on the main menu referring to Small Plates. I have a very small appetite, having tummy problems and tried to order a SP fish and chips. No way! SP apparently just for children even though they had...their own menu (under 10s only!) So the large portion fish and chips arrived and I wasted half which I hate doing! They have lost a customer as a result. (Their loss as I spent a lot on drinks for my family) !More
Service was friendly and very attentive, the food was excellent… will definitely be returning. Highly recommend.
Thank you , I shall pass on your compliments to all our team. We look forward to seeing you soon
Had dinner yesterday with colleagues. Service was a little long, to take drink order, recieve drinks and order food. The food came relatively quick. We had a variety of dishes: fish and chips, burgers, steak. I had a nice mac and cheese with prawns and...pancetta. I would suggest adding the pancetta inside the mac and cheese and not just on top. Besides that everyone was happy and full. We ordered sides careful they are quiet big (onion rings and garlic bread). The quantities of dishes are large and worth your money. Will definetly come back.More
Initially very happy with the attention when first ordering our meal. 4 staff between them dealt with us getting drinks, taking order, clearing table and asking how our meal was etc. Had our main meal and plates collected after we finished. Sat chatting whilst having...our drinks. Half an hour passed and no-one came to us to ask if we'd like to order desserts. I presumed they didn't do them as saw none on menu, until the table opposite finished their meal and were offered desserts immediately. Paid up and voiced my disappointment. Apology given but still not asked if we would like to stay and have a dessert. Clearly one not knowing what the other has done.More
Food was very good and the service was excellent i would recommend this to familys and couples good vaule for money Date of visit July 2017
We were staying at a nearby hotel and the 8 of us booked for a meal here. From my phone call to make a reservation whereby I was answered by a lovely lady and then she got the landlord to come and take my reservation...I felt we had made the right choice of venue, such lovely friendly people. On arrival we were shown to our lovely table, our waitress who I think was called Aly or Abi was attentive and lovely from start to end. The landlord Steve was great with a great sense of humour that was reflected in the signage around the place and the kids menu names…brilliant. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. The bill was a nice surprise too in these difficult times it was very reasonable. Thank you for a great evening out we will definitely be back ❤️More
We were a large family group of 17 having Easter Sunday lunch. The staff are all so friendly and food excellent. It was a perfect venue. Special thank you to Steve and Noah our waiter who took this happy family in his stride
Awful experience at the pub, lot of stress over car parking, and complete lack of customer service. Felt embarassed in front of my guests and won't be returning. Car parking clearly says 3 hours, but landlord says thats only if pre-registered or something, signage really...isn't clear and just appears to be out to trap people who are unaware with fines.More
Excellent food, excellent staff, excellent service. Really good GF menu and I can recommend the sticky toffee pudding.
Great pub with a lovely atmosphere. Booked a table for 11 for a birthday. Most people had the roasts as they are legendary in Botley. All plates were clear at the end and everyone enjoyed their lunch. Staff are great and the place is always...busy which is a good sign. Never fails to impress, keep up the good work!More
Thank you for your kind review . We hope to see you all again soon . Steve
My first visit to the Dolphin and my gosh THE LAST! STAY AWAY. Me and my partner attended the dolphin for the first time for dinner. The dinner was tasteless but cheap so we didn’t say anything. It was quiz night so we thought oh...we will stay longer. Looking at my phone battery I was concerned my phone was going to die and this was the only way I can pay. I went up to the bar to settle up. With a £57 bill I didn’t understand how that was possible so questioned it. No one came back to me. Questioned again a guy said he was looking into it. Questioned again and he said it’s with the landlord. I went up to the bar AGAIN to ask what was going on. Wow, the landlords attitude - he has no customer service WHAT SO EVER ! I am utterly shocked. The way he spoke to me was absolutely disgusting. I told them to just leave it as I really couldn’t be bothered to waste my breath on someone so rude. To add to this, my friend ordered a gin and lemonade - the lemonade was either off OR it was soda. AGAIN the landlord argued - then it turns out the lemonade was off. No sorry NOTHING. STAY CLEAR OF THIS PUB. ITS A HEAD ACHE. Crap food. Rude staff. And a landlord that doesn’t give a monkeys about customers, just the money that sits in his pocket.More
Sorry you wrote this . Your bill was correct, you fail to mention that the bill was for 4 pints of larger, 2 gin and lemonades and three main courses . I have know idea who you spoke to about the lemonade but it certainly...More
