We had a variety of food here at lunch time. All was hot, freshly prepared and delicious.
I was particularly impressed by George (new chef) who came to speak to me regarding dairy allergies. I was impressed by his knowledge, passion for food and concern to keep my grandson safe :)
We are returning on Sunday for a very scrummy roast dinner 🥘.

What a lovely pub..Staff wonderful , location and views superb .Children's trio of roasts ,excellent value for money..My wife and I had the Caesar salad. Very disappointing, not much lettuce or cheese and no anchovies at all . I ordered bags fillets with mine and my wife had chicken . But ten quid for that was steep. Finally, why oh why oh why ,are you selling Scottish mussels when your 50 yards from a tidal estuary. ??? Shame but I will be back..soon..

Thank you for your message, we always welcome feedback but I'm not sure you have the right the pub as although we offer a fantastic Sunday lunch we currently do not have a caesar salad or mussels on our menu - We would love you to visit us though as we would happily welcome you

We decided to try out the new menu with friends who had travelled over to see us. Everyone was very impressed with their meals, husbands steak was cooked to perfection and he commented how nice the peppercorn sauce was. Service was great and even better they had just started the new 20% off food for October (Mon-Wed)!
Great evening with great service, having read a few of the negative comments, it would seem they have turned things around. Great work guys.

After a hard day's graft all me & my colleague wanted was an Ice cold Pint & some Red hot food! And My God didn't the Victory Inn Deliver, the beers were delicious & the food was nutritious. The Potato Totts could have been baked by Jesus himself & would you believe it the chef had the beard to suit. We would highly recommend to anyone who would love a hearty meal in the heart of Hamble.

As we approached at the door, a lady leaving said "You have got to go in, it's awesome!" So in we went and were served by two enthusiastic and friendly ladies at the bar, one taking our drinks order, and one our food order. Well, it was the most friendly welcome we've had in a pub. Sunday roast arrived, all nicely cooked with best roast potatoes we have had when eating out. Good variety of vegetables too. All attentively served, nothing seemed too much trouble to the ladies attending to our needs.
Best pub Sunday lunch we have had - six stars.

Three of us ate at the pub/restaurant. The Nachos were great; massive portions and the accompanying Chilli was also good (both veggie and beef). The pie was a little overcooked but very tasty. Nice old style pub with good hubbub atmosphere and really friendly staff

Arrived to our pre-booked table to be told that they didn't have us booked! The most shocking part is.... They called us to confirm the day before, we had lunch there and they confirmed the booking in person, yet they completely dismissed us in the evening. They gave our table away to their friends even though it had our name on it.... coincidence ??? The manager is rude and incapable. She could've turned it around but didn't seem bothered at all!! Such a shame as prime location yet the customer service lets them down. Go to Banana Wharf instead or Kings & Queens

We visit hamble about twice a month and usually eat out for one evening out of two. Over the last couple of months we have tried the food in the Victory, mainly on Friday or Saturday evenings. After 4 visits, where we have said we must review them each time, I've finally gotten round to it. This particluar visit, was about 8pm on Thursday evening, and not wishing to delay we ordered two steaks medium rare. Service was prompt and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The barman was friendly and even took the food order whilst juggling another drinks order, so we wouldn't be waiting so long for it. Previously we have had their brisket fajitas, sizzling with tender, smoky meat and vibrant vegetables, which are a must-try and still the high bar we compare all fajitas too. My daughter also complemented the burger on a previous occasion. All in all this is our go to pub for a quick drink after the drive down and then for a meal when there is no live entertainment as that seems very popular.

Popped in on a busy Sunday, at lunch time. Service was very quick, staff were really polite and friendly. Our waitress was Sami, she was quick to seat us, take our orders and was happy to help and answer any questions we had about the menu. The food arrived quickly and was the best meal we've had out in a long time. Would (and have) 100% recommend this resteraunt to anyone and will be returning soon.

Arrived late afternoon and was served very quickly with cheery smile. Atmosphere was very good and service was superb by Bev and Co.
Meals were served piping hot, really enjoyable and quite filling.
Will be recommending to Family and Friends.

We recently visited The Victory Hamble for a family meal, and it was a lovely experience. We ordered four steaks, and each one was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Paired with a beautiful bottle of Pinot Noir, the wine was smooth and complemented the meal wonderfully. The service was decent, nothing exceptional, but it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment. The standout was definitely the food and wine, which were absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a great meal with a great glass of wine, this place is a fantastic choice!

The Best Sunday Roast in Town!
If you’re looking for a proper Sunday roast, look no further than the victory. This gem of a pub delivers everything you could hope for in a quintessential British roast and then some.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure our experience was perfect.
Now, onto the roast: it was simply outstanding. The beef was cooked to perfection – tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The Yorkshire puddings were massive, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside, just as they should be. The roast potatoes? Utterly divine – golden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned.
The vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the gravy was the star of the show – rich, flavorful, and generously served. They even offered extra gravy when we asked (a must for any proper roast lover!).

My brother and I visited the Victory today for lunch. Ordered one fish and chips and one steak and ale pie. Also ordered a couple of drinks. 2 girls serving or rather one girl did the work while the other looked on as people quad to get served . I think she was in charge of food section which was not busy at all. I would say she was lazy whilst the girls serving the drinks was fast and served as fast as she could.
The food came, the fish and chips fine but the steak and ale pie seemed like it had been heated up the day before. It was dry, hard and the contents also dried out. The worst pie I have ever had, the pastry was inedible.
A pity as it was a lovely day out and we were hungry.
Disappointed to say the least.

Many pubs and restaurants seem to have their good phases and their not so good. Living in Hamble I have eaten at the Victory many times and I think the food has ranged from mediocre to okay - and occasionally good. However, we went there for a Christmas meal and I was very impressed. The food was excellent and the staff were brilliant… although they usually are! The Gravad Lax and lentil starter was lovely - and plentiful - and subsequent courses were equally tasty. Definitely going through a ‘good phase’ at the moment so I look forward to going back soon.
…a new(ish) chef perhaps?

Saw earlier in the week a new menu was being released and knew we had to come and try it! Fantastic options for all courses and plenty of gluten free and vegetarian choices. We went for the garlic mushrooms and chilli and garlic king prawns to start, they were both incredible! For mains our son had the pizza with added ham, a brilliant sized portion for a kids meal! We had the sirloin steak medium well and the new Nelsons Column burger, both cooked perfectly and the burger was definitely impressive! Sadly we were too full for desserts which was a shame as so much to choose from! Amazing food, great atmosphere, brilliant service!!
