What an amazing place! We were warmly Welcomed by the staff who were all so professional and pleasant. Our overnight stay in the cottage was lovely, very comfy spacious room and all the amenities you need. Breakfast was great and again the morning staff were...so lovely and helpful. We will be back. Beautiful village, we can’t wait to come back and explore the area more. Thank youMore

Visited on Bank holiday Monday at 2pm and wondered why it was so quiet. Food - nice - Very small portions. Very overpriced at £22 a plate. £11 per med glass of wine x 2. Pudding was almost £20 (for sharing plate) and water £4.50....Add 12.5% service charge and lunch for 2, two courses and 2 glasses of wine for £120 is just outrageous! Nice pub, friendly staff, nice food, daylight robbery!!More

Atmosphere ok.Service was poor to say the least..The guy who was supposedly looking after us could not have been less interested. We waited ages for our order to be taken, two of the main courses not being available(not his fault obviously). We then had to beg for desert...menus,only two arrived virtually thrown on the table.Deserts finally arrived not at the same time! To make matters worse we were sat in the area at the area nearest the garden and the door was constantly left open by the staff. When we spoke to the guy he grunted, shrugged his shoulders .He needs to be reminded that he is in the hospitality industry. The owners should have an automatic door return device fitted, they are not expensive and it's not rocket science..To make matters worsethere is a 12.5 % service charge already applied.I wanted to have that taken off the bill but was out voted on our tableMore

We stayed for one night and were welcomed by a jovial host who showed us to the Lady Boston, a well appointed ground floor room in the cottage. The room had a comfortable and firm king size bed, nice en suite with pleasant toiletries. Do...bring a shower cap if needed as the shower is the drench shower type! For supper I had the cauliflower croquettes to start which were very tasty. Followed by a starter size portion of the roasted sweet potato salad which was good, but perhaps too much frisée lettuce added. Breakfast the next day was ok but the smashed avocado wasn’t smashed avocado but a guacamole that felt mass produced. The sourdough and poached eggs were good. There was also an option for almond milk cappuccino which was good. The staff were all super helpful, and welcoming, in particular the staff we met on arrival and at supper. We would stay again at the Bel and would recommend.More

Disappointing meal here, one of the meals had to be sent back, it was dealt with swiftly by the restaurant and removed from the bill - but it is alarming that the kitchen aren’t getting the basics right. The other meals were fine, the service...was good, but the food was lacking in general - not as good as it was previously. I’ve heard it’s changed hands recently and it seems to have suffered - a shame. Won’t be rushing to return.More

Three of us enjoyed a superb lunch here, the staff were delightful and friendly and most attentive. The pub is a gorgeous old historic building very well kept inside with historical features. Our meals were all excellent but with all restaurants they seem to be...shy of giving you plenty of vegetables, the cheapest commodity for some reason, no complaints except i was still hungry but still enjoyed ourselves.More
