Easy communication. Arrived following a washout, from walking the Ridgeway. Landlady (Sam) was incredibly accommodating and offered washing /drying facilities that were not at all expected. Visited the pub on the 22nd December 2022. . The bar staff are very nice !!!! I have eaten here before and it was actually fresh home made food. This time the staff did admit it was frozen potatoes etc. The menu stated that it...was home made Yorkshire pudfding which in the past when eaten here it was , but this time it was frozen and came out burnt and tasted bitter . I sent it back but still came out burnt. The cabbage was soggy. The roast beef came out in chunks and was not sliced , carrots css as me out chunky and not cooked properly. the presentation was awful . Everything just chucked on the plate. Very very disappointed overall.More

Lovely freehouse with a really nice owner and friendly team. Stayed overnight to attend Michael Buble at Waddesdon Manor. Comfy room. Had lunch on Sunday which was good. Overall a good stay and would def stay again.

Fantastic meal with my other half and our two friends, the staff were amazing, especially considering the volume of “cheese” based jokes being told to them :) Food was delicious, at short notice the team pulled together an impromptu birthday desert plate for our friend...Jo who was celebrating a big birthday :) Thank you very much for a wonderful eveningMore

Lovely clean fresh twin bed room decorated in coordinated soft greys. Windows on 2 aspects. One window had lit eaves lights visible at night.. Maybe a blackout option would help block. Simple to use shower (thankfully) giving plenteous hot water. Full sized fridge in room...was a wonderful bonus - supply of 1L fresh milk, 2 bottles Orange juice and 2 bottles of water. Room breakfast of selection of cereals, Juice and tea/coffee was provided. Stairs to room from bar side, on arrival, VERY steep and difficult to manage even without a suitcase. But after booking in we could use the back entrance that served the resident clients more easily.More

Had a lovely meal for my parents 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary. This was a very pleasant location for the event.

We had a delicious meal here. Started with baked camembert followed by Thai curry and chicken tikka masala...all home made. Absolutely delicious. Great service and Sam so welcoming and helpful. Definately recommend and will come again

Nice dinner in the restaurant with family members who were staying over last night in Room 8. They said the room was excellent. Food was really good and friendly and very attentive service by Samantha and Chloe .

This is our 4th visit . Great service , Great Pub Food , Great Atmosphere. What more could you want , well worth a visit. A really great menu , would highly recommend!
