What a wonderful experience! The view is astounding, the food exceptional and priced so low we could hardly believe it. They make all the food by hand as well as their own wine and salami. A real family operation (and a sweet, welcoming young family...at that) on the enchanting border of Slovenia and Italy. So glad we stumbled on this place!More
We we're running late to have the standard lunch time and by the time we finally arrived, the guests started leaving the restaurant, it was 14:30, so, it's an early lunch place, say, 12:00 to 14:00 kind of. We opted to try not one but...three starters or to be more precise, three primis, dandelion and cheese pie, a veal gulasch with gnocchi and a barley-beans stew...The dessert was tiramisu with strawberries, we chose local Chardonnay to go with this meal which proved to be an excellent choice. The young couple who served us was friendly and eating outside was just great as the Spring temperature made it perfect setting, the view, little hills all around, the Alps just a bit further away and the home-made style food. The prices are very reasonable and it is only logical to come back for more of that ambiance and hospitality. Very recommendable!More
Great drop in for lunch with the locals! Delicious local cuisine in in formal atmosphere. Superb service and good food at reasonable prices. We were early but the restaurant was almost full of locals for Saturday lunch when we left!
The food an stuff was exelent. Dont expect nothing just enyo with local people. I was with my friend on bussines lunch and the food was amazing
We stopped off here by chance on Sunday afternoon. The place was totally packed but we managed to get a table for 2 outside and I'm so glad we did. The service is so friendly and it was extremely efficient too, especially considering the amount...of guests they had. We had some cold meats and cheeses as a starter which was fully satisfying. Then i had the pasticcio of asparagus which was very, very tasty and my husband took blecs (typical friulian pasta) with cheese, which he adored. Then we took a frico and a portion of potatoes...both fantastic. My husband finally took the palacinka with nutella. A simple crepe but again well prepared and tasty. We also had a litre of house wine (very enjoyable), a litre of water, a coffee and two digestive drinks...all for 39 euros. Unbelievable value for such a lovely and filling meal in a beautiful setting with a lovely smiling waitress. I can't wait to come back!More
It's always a pleasure having a dinner or a lunch here. The staff is really friendly and the traditional dishes are always seasonal and delicious. We'll come back soon!
Great dishes, very reasonable and very fair prices. The menu offers a huge selection of regionale specialities. We will come back!
