My wife received a birthday gift voucher for afternoon tea at Wistow Café Bistro. When arranging the booking we were asked about diet issues and explained them. (We have different dietary requirements which sometimes causes problems when eating out.) Today we went to Wistow for...our tea. We were served by Ella who was aware of our needs and explained that our food was arranged on plates each according to our individual needs. This was really good, completely meeting our requirements and in our experience it’s something that other establishments often overlook. The meal was served in a shared room which seemed to be set aside for Afternoon Teas. It was an oasis of peace, set off from the busier areas. We loved the setting and ambiance. The meal consisted of a selection of freshly made sandwiches, a sausage roll followed by fruit scones with jam and Cornish clotted cream and homemade cakes. Tea and filter coffee were served and topped up when required. The food was all high quality, fresh and absolutely delicious. The service was great from all the staff we spoke to, in particular Ella who was really attentive in her care of us, checking at regular intervals that everything was OK and that we were happy. This was our first visit to Wistow Café Bistro and it will not be our last. Well done to all the staff.More

Quite simply the best English breakfast I have ever had in a cafe/bistro setting. I don’t think I’ve ever gone out of my way to express this before anywhere but felt it necessary to say so to the staff afterwards. I had the big breakfast,...the wife the small but the food was absolutely cooked to perfection and of the highest quality. Staff were nice & friendly and the coffee (Cappuccino) was lovely (and hot).More

As hungry went for the full breakfast. Nice place, nice location , shops are not all that but the Cafe is a winner. Busy but plenty of seats , effective outdoor heating on the terrace, not queuing long. Food excellent, £10 for the big breakfast...was priced just right, the sausages and bacon good quality as was the service. Only thing I could fault, no black pudding. Will return.👍More

Would highly recommend - we went as a family of 5 for Mother’s Day afternoon tea. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for us. The food was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it. I have never tasted...such delicious cakes. They really did taste as good as they looked. The atmosphere and setting was absolutely lovely. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff that made it so special for us XxxMore

Tasty food but 50p for a cup of hot water! Visited for lunch and ordered two toasted breads, a cup of tea and a can of juice. Hot drinks are ordered a little ahead of your order being taken and placed at the end of...the counter while you wait for your order to be taken. No one asked how the tea should be served. My wife likes it without milk and quite light. However the teabag was left in and the cup just over three quarters full. She took it to her table asking me to get her some hot water to adjust her over strong tea. I was charged 50p for a mug of hot water! I asked to see the manager who informed me the charge was standard as there were costs involved in providing the water and cleaning the cup. After some discussion I was refunded my 50p and provided with a fresh teabag, though in fact I didn’t ask for or need the teabag. Maybe there was a minimal cost involved but against that there was a saving in no milk being required and no washing of any milk jug! And at £2.50 for a three quarter full cup of tea I think the price was high enough. To be fair, the food was delicious, but the experience left a sour taste and rather spoiled my lunch. I have never been so embarrassed or ever charged for a little hot water in over 50 years of eating out.More

Me and two friends stopped by on Saturday for a long awaited afternoon tea and safe to say we were speechless. Everyone needs to try it. The selection of food was incredible, we couldn’t quite believe just how much there was and it was so...unbelievably yummy, especially the lemon muffins. Amazing location too, a walk around the surrounding shops was much needed in attempt to walk off the food babies! The staff worked really hard, it was a busy day but nothing was ever too much to ask for and our server was lovely. She really made us feel welcome, was attentive and made the visit that little bit more delightful and one to remember so thank you (didn’t catch your name)! Wistow we’ll be back xMore

Visited for an afternoon tea which was absolutely delicious, the cakes are to die for! Through no fault of the staff whatsoever we had ordered two meat afternoon teas rather than one vege option and one meat and the staff were so accommodating and went...above and beyond to provide us with a vege tea with no notice whatsoever. Thank you so much, and sorry for being a pain! We will be back!More
