Great food and service equivalent to Cunard White Star. The ambience is very good and a good selection of fine wines. Restaurant ideally situated on harbour.

Been there twice in the last 6 months and never been disappointed. Food always fresh and nicely prepared. Always received a very good service. If you love fish and seafood this is the place to go. I look forward to my next visit.

Booked the Tolbooth for lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday. On arrival we were given three menu options and the young waiter went through the specials menu in detail. We made our choices and then after some time the waitress came along and told us...More

Tiny portions, really disappointing to pay so much for so little food! It was nice enough, but expected better. Tiny and pretentious usually means bags of flavour and taste, but this was just tiny. Barely any veg, small amount of meat. Service was pretty slow,...More

The food was well prepared and presented but the portions were very small. If you're on a diet then this is the place to dine.

Historically good meal. Seafood doesn’t get any fresher nor more brilliantly executed than this. Very warm and pleasant environment and friendly, professional staff.

The service and food were both tremendous. Everything was perfect right down to the way the veg was cooked. As for the crab soup..... I’ve never tasted anything like it. One of the nicest things I’ve ever tasted in my life. A must for seafood...More

Good plates based on fish and sea-food. Nice service and dishes, also the desserts were well prepared and tasty. The fish depends by available one on daily basis, so it determines a not so huge menu choice! Anyhow...well done!!

We have been twice and been impressed both times. This second visit we had the set menu on a Sunday - 3 delicious courses for £20 is an absolute bargain for food of this quality and the service is calm, efficient and friendly.
