Probably the worst king prawn curry I have ever had.more like soup than a meal. Cash only so I had to walk to the bank

Have used champagne a few times as choice of takeaway is limited in this area. We have always been quite impressed. Tonight, granted a Saturday so popular and busy time for takeaway, I phoned to place my order. The man advised a wait time of...around a an hour I said that’s fine no problem. He told me the time to turn up for collection. I arrived promptly, a little before the time given incase it was ready early and sitting there. Paid for my order and he checked out the back and said it shouldn’t be long. Honestly I think perhaps they started cooking it then..? I sat and waited for 20 minutes, many many customers came and went with their food, granted they probably ordered just as long ago as I did, but when my order was ready there was no acknowledgement of it being 20 mins past the time stated, to be honest I was kind of hoping for some prawn crackers thrown in or something.. We do rate the food very highly, it’s really tasty. Just a little disappointed this time around. Was perfectly happy to wait the time stated on the phone as we understand Saturdays are busy, however it did end up being a total of an hour and 25mins after I placed the order with no “sorry for the wait” Recommend the food, just be prepared to sit in the lobby for a good while at peak times.More

We were reluctant to try food for here because of the bad reviews but we really fancied a Chinese and this is the nearest so we gave it a go. We are really glad we did. The food was hot, plentiful and delicious, ready when...they said it would be and we shall definitely order food from here again.More

Similar to others, I was a bit hesitant ordering from Champagne based on other reviews. Decided to go ahead and give it a chance as we were staying nearby. I was really pleasantly surprised! The menu states they use minimal amounts of sugar, salt and...MSG, which explains why people think it’s bland. I didn’t think it was bland. The chow mien was FRESH and tasty. The chicken in both dishes was of good quality, and NOT that horrible over processed chicken you get at some places. For me, these two points make it a winner! I’ve been trying to find a Chinese that uses less or no MSG for ages! Didn’t think they existed. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is because it is really expensive. So it’s definitely a treat takeaway!!More

Was a hit hesitant after reading some of the reviews left, was staying locally at the Camping and Caravanning site and decided to have a bash. Meal A, it was excellent, piping hot and very good value, would certainly reccommend.

I had my first takeaway from Champagne on Friday 27th August. I had been so wary because of some really bad reviews but it was the best Chinese takeaway I & my son, daughter in law & Grandson have had. I would recommend Champagne 👍

We lived Champange Chinese, but the last two times we’ve had a meal, it hasn’t been great, the chicken satay has become more watery, and the other dishes a bit tasteless 🤷‍♂️ have they changed chefs???

Food was ok from here, nothing special. What is odd is that they refuse payment by card unless over £25. In times of COVID it is the opposite of other retailers. Only one reason you want a cash business in my eyes!!!

Sorry to say the food was tasteless good service but whats the point when the food is awful , Wont be going back.

We have used Champagne a few times now and have been really pleased with it every time. Friendly and efficient service. All dishes have good flavour, quantities of meat good, really tasty and generous sized portions too.

Just had a excellent takeaway for 5 people and absolutely no complaints, every dish was delicious - from the squid to the Duck - loved it!

Well I don’t know where those negative views are coming from. We’ve recently been using Champagne and all meals so far have been superb! They do the best chilli beef strips ever. The service is great and friendly too and meals are ready very quickly...too, never have to wait long. I won’t use anywhere else now.More
