Have stopped here for lunch on a few occasions as it is a convenient location near to the Manifold Way. The menu seemed to have been reduced since our last visit so I settled for fish and chips and my friends had jacket potatoes. The food was OK and the service perfectly acceptable but there was a smell of old... More

We stayed here at this lovely, traditional little pub and enjoyed it immensely. The whole experience was fantastic. The pub is a little gem of a place nestled in the village of Waterhouses. The location is perfect for walking and exploring both the Mainfold Valley, the beautiful Dove Dale and is only a 10min drive from Alton Towers. Nearby market towns Leek... More

Good value Sunday lunch and plenty of it! Good choice of meats and very well cooked and washed down with some real ale.

We all ordered x4 steaks. Not bad value for money - average food.. One steak had to go back. Landlord friendly but other staff not very friendly. Yew Tree Inn food and ambience loads better just up the road. Don't think we would eat here again.

One of the items on my bucket list was to eat in a real old fashioned British pub. Ye Olde Crown delivered in spades. We arranged to meet with friends for lunch. Apart from one other patron we were the only ones there. The atmosphere was exactly what I wanted. Old and comfortable. No fancy gastro-pub. It did fill up... More

We have eaten in here two evenings in a row whilst staying in a local holiday cottage. The ambience is really friendly, the service is excellent and the food is freshly cooked, great value and complimented by all of us. If you are staying locally on holiday or just passing through, do visit this excellent local pub.

We arrived unannounced with a large group on a stag do, staying at a nearby cottage. Despite not booking we were welcomed, found tables and all fed good quality food. Everyone ordered different things and everyone had high praise. I can't recommend highly enough.

Just had the 8oz rump steak and crown mega burger. The plates were empty! The food is stunning and worth the wait. Great price and staff to. Thank you.

Stunning food and a great atmosphere. The Surf n Turf was epic. Great service on a busy night and the food was really tasty and lovely and hot. Guinness is great along with the wine selection

Thank Jim J
