Ideally placed close to M40, much prefer to stop here than at overpriced services, you get a service with a smile, great food and great beer in a lovely setting

We found this pub on trip advisor as the hotel we were staying at for the weekend served atrocious food. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the food exceptional. We had the roasted lamb rump which was tender ( and to die for!!) Followed by the warm bakewell tart - delicious. Will definitely be... The Leathern Bottle is a lovely old pub situated in the village of Lewknor which is off the beaten track and yet very close to the London to Birmingham motorway (the M40). There is a good selection of ales, an excellent menu (generous portions too) and ample eating space (three bars and, weather permitting a garden in front). Care must... More

Lovely lunch today for seven of us. Recommended pub from real ale guide. Three great beers - Brakespears and Pedigree our favourites. Old style pub with all those old fashioned things you would expect from a quality pub. We had a range of meals. My haddock and mash was tasty with good flavoured sauce and creamy mash and peas. The... More

A traditional pub with good old fashioned values. Great food, great service, great staff and great prices. Love the fillet steak and the chips are beyond special :)

The welcome at this pub was most disappointing. The food is overpriced and below average. The chair I sat on was broken to the degree it was dangerous. In short unfriendly, poor food and I definitely will not be recommending this pub to my friends.

A very well presented and sociable pub where the staff are friendly along with the Morris dancers in the car park. Good food, steak was spot on and the food on generally was very nice. Beer was good too.

Following a decision to get out onto the Chilterns for the day we found the Aston Rowant Discovery Trail which included an extended walk recommending taking in the Leathern Bottle for a stop and a bite to eat. Good recommendation. Friendly staff and warm welcome in this busy village pub. We sat inside in the bar with small dog sat... More

Recently my wife and I have taken to having a break on our regular journey to London by stopping off for Sunday lunch at The Leathern Bottle. What a lovely find! The pub seems to be a locals' regular venue and you are made to feel very welcome both by the staff and patrons. The food and the beer are... More
