We Booked a table for 4 on a Wednesday night . There were a few others in the restaurant but it wasn’t full/ The interior design of the restaurant is amazing, it’s very on trend but the original stonework adds that touch of uniqueness and history and looks absolutely class. The staff were very friendly and seemed eager to please, and the front of house manager was very keen to ensure we were happy with our meal choices checking one or two of our menu queries with the chef. We were surprised to find the the food is fine dining as £40 for 2 courses is very reasonable, and was absolutely amazing. There is nothing like this dining experience for miles around and well worth the visit. 2 of us had the Brill which was guaranteed boneless after I asked, and was unusual but a beautiful piece of fish. One had the venison which was cooked to perfection and one the chicken, again perfect. The very unusual style vegetables accompanying each meal were so tasty and filling. We also shared a side of honey roast root vegetables which were beautiful too. The honey cheesecake desserts were stunning visually and flavour and again unusual with the accompanying side ice creams, basket weave ‘cracker’ and sweet additions. The food is absolutely 5 stars, the overall service was friendly and professional and nothing seemed too much trouble. One comment if I’m being very picky, the lighting was very bright to start with and felt a little ‘cold’ but when the staff switched the lighting down the ambience was a total change and felt lovely and with the stonework and I can imagine when the log burner is lit it’s stunning. We did sit without drinks for a few minutes after our first drink but nothing terrible. Overall we all said we will come back and strongly recommend Deacons bank now, as soon, you’ll have to book way in advance once word gets out of the quality of the food here.

The food was absolutely superb. The Sunday lunch was freshly cooked ( nothing out of a packet; nothing microwaved and nothing pre-manufactured). It was amazing. We had all 3 courses, a bottle of wine and coffees and it was reasonably priced. We spoke to the customers on the next table to us; and we all agreed, the experience was like being somwhere in Wilmslow or Alderley Edge. Tom and his team have created a really fine dining experience and there is nothing to compare it with locally. The staff were brilliant. Special thanks to Evie who greeted us on our arrival and Freya our waitress. Both of them looked after us throughout the afternoon. They have both been working on our previous visits and obviously their experience is really beginning to show. It is great to see young people develop their skills. They really were excellent at customer service. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. We have booked for future visits, would thoroughly recommend.

We recently visited Deacon’s Bank for Sunday dinner and had an absolutely fantastic meal! The food was top-notch and from our starters, to the Sunday roasts and our deserts. The attention to detail in every dish was truly impressive. The decor of the restaurant added to the overall ambiance of the visit. The cozy yet elegant atmosphere created the perfect setting for a delightful dining experience. It was clear that a lot of thought had been put into the aesthetics, making it a feast for the eyes as well. The staff at Deacon’s Bank were incredibly attentive throughout our meal. Their friendly and courteous demeanor made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Every request was met with a smile, and they ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. We would highly recommend Deacon’s Bank to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Whether it's a special occasion or simply a relaxing Sunday dinner, this place has it all and is worth the trip - amazing food, charming decor, and impeccable service. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Booked Deacon’s Bank for lunch a while back then discovered they were changing to a brunch or afternoon tea menu. Really wanted a proper celebratory lunch so popped in to discuss. An extremely helpful young woman said she’d have a word with the chef to see what was possible then rang me back with a suggestion. So three friends and I had an amazing lunch today, Real fine dining experience, food amazing and staff all friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to visit again.

We have had the absolute pleasure of dining here on three separate occasions since opening and each time got better. Front of house team is absolutely perfect. A great balance of friendliness, professionalism, humour and charm. Zoe and the team are a real credit to the restaurant. Zoe makes us feel like we have been going here for years not weeks and greets us with a smile and a chat and nothing is too much trouble. The food is amongst the best I’ve ever eaten. Chef Simon Harrison is immensely talented and his food is beautiful, flavourful, innovative and executed perfectly. The starters tease what is to come and the Stilton cheesecake was a sight to behold and perfectly balanced - a delight for the tastebuds. Mains are always my least favourite part of a meal and I am always disappointed when I order fish… not here. The stone bass with chorizo jam and pickled fennel was just superb, and not to be defeated, the deserts are the best I have ever tasted. The Malt cheesecake with honey was sublime and I went back a second time for the Salted Caramel and banana. Deacon’s Bank is the best restaurant in the High Peak by a country mile and I believe there isn’t one to compare. There were a couple that we used to enjoy but one started to believe a bit of their own hype and lost the charm and friendliness that made your visit. The other seems to have lost a bit of momentum but I’m hopeful it will return. However, Deacon’s Bank has set a new standard and I’m excited to see how other eateries respond. Dining here is an experience but not at the expense of the food as can often be the case. We rarely go back to a restaurant twice as the second time usually disappoints, I can’t wait to go back a fourth time in as many weeks, as I know that this team has got everything spot on. I look forward to seeing them get the accolades they deserve and cheering them on from the sidelines!

We ate here (see earlier review) not long after they opened. At the time the food was spot on but the service, whilst enthusiastic and attentive, was not fine dining level. They've moved on since. The young waitress knew the dishes, could describe them and was happy to say which she preferred and why. One of our party was veggie and was given multiple options, the gnochi she opted for were delicious. The meat eaters amongst us loved the venison loin and the duck both of which were beautifully cooked. Additionally they've extended the winelist to include some very decent selections. Outstanding value for money for food of such quality.

This is the second time we’ve visited Deacons Bank in the past two weeks. The food is consistently delicious. The servings are not over facing, and leave you looking forward to the next course with delightful anticipation. The Japanese Beer and Deacons Bank Pale ale complemented the excellent wine list, with a great choice of cocktails to finish off an excellent experience. Business Manager Zoe and Head Chef Simon have engaged a great team, who were all very attentive and genuinely looked to be enjoying themselves. The people of Chapel en le Frith are lucky to have such an excellent restaurant on their doorstep.

Deacon's Bank is truly exceptional. Offering world class fine dining from a phenomenal kitchen team, Deacon's Bank manages to make it affordable, and has truly altered the way people think of fine dining in the area. Now I can rarely hear about a date or special occasion where Deacons Bank isn't considered for it's unique take on fine dining. The food is truly excellent, and unlike many other fine dining establishments, you don't come away hungry. The crab starter and chicken wellington were works of art on this particular visit, however previous visits have included venison fillet, Christmas dinners, Sea Bass, all of which have been utterly tremendous, and the food truly is a feast for the eyes as much as the body and soul. Incredible restaurant.

Having dined here a while back (very good fine dining) thought we'd try brunch. Excellent. My wife had dill cure salmon and scrambled eggs; superb quality salmon and beautifully cooked eggs. I had eggs benedict, again top notch. Clearly home made muffins and hollandaise, cooked ham (not pancetta or some other incorrect ingredient) and nicely poached eggs. I like this place and it really has the potential to be outstanding.

My family visited for Sunday lunch in January and there were 13 in our party. We each had different dishes and they were all beautifully presented and tasted exceptional. The staff were all friendly yet professional and enhanced the whole experience. This was fine dining at its best and Chapel-en-le-Frith is lucky to have such a fabulous venue.

Great dining experience. Good for a special occasions, the food is fine dining - small portions of well cooked food and was delicious. If you like large pub meals then this may not be for you, I'm sure the Sunday lunch may be though. We were all able to fit in a pudding and they were gorgeous. Overall feel lucky to have such a lovely place to eat and drink on our doorstep, will definitely be a regular customer.

We visited for an anniversary treat. Everything was absolutely spot on! The food is presented beautifully and absolutely delicious. The front of house team are all lovely; welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and in no way pretentious. The menu had a delightful & mouthwatering selection for all three courses, at a spot on price point for exceptional quality! We will definitely return. A real asset to the High Peak!

We were at the Chef's Table. Worth every penny of the extra £10 per head. Delicious, beautifully presented dishes, designed, sourced, prepared and served to the highest of standards. Knowledgeable, friendly staff, who showed a passion for the restaurant, the food and drink, and the customers. Huge attention to detail in every respect. A high-end restaurant, but with absolutely no stuffiness or pretension. Highly recommended.

My Husband and I were gifted a meal here on Wednesday evening. We were holidaying in the area and were told about Deacons Bank by the people whose holiday cottage we were renting. Turned out to be the best meal we had all week. The food is exceptional with interesting flavour combinations and beautifully presented. (Compliments to the chef) The venue is, as the name suggests, an old bank that the owner has skilfully converted to a very plush restaurant. The decor was beautiful and his staff even allowed us a glimpse through the kitchen door where they have retained the door to the bank vaults. The staff were really pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. All in all we had a lovely evening with good food in lovely surroundings. Thank you Austin and Christina for gifting us a lovely evening at Deacons Bank. We will definitely return when we are next in the area.

Went for a birthday meal with husband. Warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Lovely corner booth seat. Ordered the taster menu and every single dish was amazing - beautifully presented and the tastes were spot on. Our waitress for the evening was lovely and very friendly. We really enjoyed our evening and keep talking about the food still. We can’t wait to go back and eat there again!
