Last week (15th -19th November 2023) my wife and I have been to the Old Hall every afternoon/evening for drinks and at Saturday we also had dinner. We have enjoyed each and every time because the atmosphere, the staff, the landlord Rick, the drinks and...food and also the other clients we talked to were simply great. It was wonderful to have such a wonderful experience each and every time we visited, just like in 2015 and 2019. Great real ales (especially the Old Peculier) and a wonderful collection of whiskeys to try. Hopefully we will be able to visit again in 2024!More

Food - amazing. One of us had fish and chips, one of us had the curry, one of us had the steak and ale pie. Full marks all round. The pie in particular was impressive - packed with meat. Cosy pub; great service; warm fire....Top notch.More

I've eaten quite a few in the area - but their 10 item large Derbyshire breakfast is THE best 'full English' in the Peak District National Park!

Good atmosphere, polite staff, overpriced food for the greasiest fish I have ever seen on a plate, I did let a member of staff know all she said was I will tell the chef, I didn't complain for the sake of it it was so...that the chef cooked it properly next time. I will never return for food I should have had a bag of crisps and put the wasted money in the charity tin.More

We’ve just spent a wonderful two nights in this beautiful old hotel. We arrived at lunchtime on Friday and received a warm welcome. We decided to have lunch, which was excellent - mini fish focaccia for me and a pulled pork one for hubby. The...staff very kindly allowed us to check into our room early. We stayed in room 2, which had a double 4 poster bed, lots of storage and a spacious en-suite. The bed was very comfortable and despite the room overlooking the road was very quiet. We booked a table for dinner on Saturday night and the food was excellent again. Breakfast is served in the tea rooms attached to the hotel and was freshly cooked and really good. The staff were all so friendly and hard working and genuinely cared for their customers. Would definitely recommend and return. Thank youMore

Visited The old Hall for food . 2 roast dinners and a hot meat sandwich from the lunch menu. Roast dinners were tasty but a little bland. Hot roast beef sandwich served with roast potatoes was a disappointment. Portion was smaller than expected - foccacia...roll contained 1 slice of beef and sandwich was accompanied by 2 smallish roast potatoes that were pale and undercooked. Asked the server to replace the potatoes as they were not fully cooked which she was happy to do. After 10 minutes the server asked the kitchen again as they had not arrived. All 3 meals were done with and we were ready to pay.... still no potatoes. Server did remove part of the cost of the dish but I left feeling hungry and underwhelmed.More

We were a party of 6 adults, 2 of our party were late but that wasn’t a problem for the staff they were very understanding and accommodating. And even though we were over an hour late sitting at our table, there was no pressure to...finish quickly and vacate the table. The staff were brilliant, attentive and friendly, the food was lovely and the atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for the 2 lads and the lass who took very good care of us. Reasonably priced. It’s a lovely place in a lovely location. The only negative is the size of the car park, which is small with limited spaces, but it’s something that can’t be changed. Thank you to all who took very good care of us.More
