Had a meet up with an old friend here for lunch. It was nice and quiet with one other couple when we got there at 12noon. We both had a ham and cheese uitsmijter which was for me well prepared and lovely. Nice view of the harbour as we sat outside on the terrace in the sun.

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Burgers are good quality and perfectly seasoned and steaks are cooked exactly as requested. Service was friendly and professional too.

This restaurant used to be specialized in fish dishes mainly and that was the strength of it. Now when we ate here last August 2015, they lost this focus. I really regret that, now it's more an average restaurant.

We arrived at 18.45 hours. We reserved for an "all-you-can-eat" offer to experience the restaurant. After ordering our drinks and study the menu, we ordered the first course. After waiting 50 (!) minutes we could finally eat something. Every course meant waiting for about 45 minutes!! So, at the end of the fourth course we had still some appetite left.... More

This restaurant is mainly for fish lovers. I came across this restaurant during a wine and dine walk. Because I don't like fish they served me some meat, but you can clearly state that they are specialized in fish. The rest of my party loves fish very much, they where quite enthousiastic about it.

I'm not sure where the last reviewer (Aug 12, 2014) ate, but I think it must have been a completely different restaurant, as our experience was the absolute opposite from this! We opted for the Gastrobar Menu, from which you choose a variety of smaller dishes, which can be shared (along the lines of tapas). The food was very good... More

We should have known not seeing many people in the restaurant... The non pro-active , not smiling waitress arrived and was even too lazy standing in front of us to get a second menu which resulted to my friend grabing a menu from another table in front of her... When our order arrived there was first of all a hair... More

However I've never felt this restaurant to be a particularly cosy, it's well decorated in a modern style. It's the only fish restaurant I know in the whole wide area, and the times I have been eating there over the years, the food (vegetables, fish) has always been excellently prepared... even the more common products simply taste very good when... I wouldn't say that Almere-Haven is a tourist destinantion. Not at all, in fact. But if you happen to be in the neighborhood, "Krab aan de Haven" is a must. We had lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the price/value formula. I ordered venison filet and actually expected the usual small portion. Wrong, I got a perfectly cooked 300 grams... More
