About
Fantastic food is important at The Blue Bell. A stylish Country Pub & Restaurant with fabulous Rooms: Our local suppliers provide us with great Yorkshire produce which our chefs use to put together a great range of dishes from the pub classics we all know and love (think Fish & Chips or Cheese Burger) to some slightly more elaborate dishes that are perfect for those special occasions. To keep things simple our main menu runs throughout the week at both lunchtimes and during evening service. Enjoy a Traditional Sunday Roast served all day on Sunday's and Bank Holidays from 12 until 8pm

Terrible staff just did not seem to be happy doing there job this was a real bad experience and would not visit the place again would not recommend the food nothing special beef tough and not enough plus no gravy and no veg put on...one of our tables asked but didn't get, the Tiramisu basically ice cream in sundae glass with coffee to pour over !!!!!!!!!!!!! Then at the end of the meal we were overcharged and said they could not give print outs.I have just learnt they have staffing problems as the 2 guys that managed the place had walked out recently.More

I went here for a family meal and the service i received was awful - the staff were ignorant and rude towards us and the management of the place is diabolical. it didn’t create a good atmosphere and it ruined our family night together. we...were charged more than we ordered and we weren’t even aloud to see our own bill. it used to be very pleasant but has certainly gone down hill since it has been taken over. Very disappointedMore

Superb room, large, clean, huge bed and the linen and pillows on the bed were luxurious. We normally stay where possible in larger and more expensive hotels but we thought we would give this a go and was not disappointed. Throughly recommend. The reason it...does not get 5 out of 5 was our evening meal the steak I had was awful I could have resoled my shoes with it, not very good but maybe I was just unlucky. Staff in the pub/ restaurant were good though I could be bothered to complain as we had just driven up from the south coast and needed our bed.More

We have visited the Blue Bell a number of times since having our baby less than three months ago and have found the service to be excellent with food to match. We are always made to feel very welcome and everyone has been very accommodating...to our needs with a young baby. Would highly recommend.More

I'm not usually one for leaving reviews, unless something is really good - or really bad – but this just has to be shared. We came across the Blue Bell whilst looking to visit Harrogate and what an absolute gem of a find it is....Tastefully decorated in a modern yet country style leather and tweed, chic but relaxing. We had booked to stay a night (Room 3), which included breakfast – all for an extremely reasonable price – the room was not overly large but was sumptuously equipped with all mod cons – the bathroom was huge, modern and fantastically clean - lovely. We ate in for the evening meal and the food did not disappoint at all – our compliments to the chef. For breakfast we had a beautiful meal – a fresh course and a beautiful, cooked platter at our request. We would like to thank all the staff at the Blue Bell for their friendliness and, should we be in the region in future, we will be sure to pay you a visit.More

After a somewhat arduous journey with plenty of wrong turns on the way to Harrogate we came across a lovely place called the bluebell, arkendale. We decided to pop in for something to eat and were certainly pleasantly please we did! Excellent value for money...considering how fresh everything tasted and little attentions to detail. I had the 'indian burger'. Would highly recommend. Very fresh tasting and a complexity of flavours I could easily appreciate. My wife had the feather blade of beef to which she described as melting in the mouth like " a bar of galaxy chocolate"! Need I say more? We left more than satisfied and will definitely visit againMore

Mmmmm .if you like being called 'guys' at 67 and 63 years old then this is the place for you !!! By the look on the young waiters face whilst taking our order I became concerned as he didn't appear to understand what we would...like as starters and mains . I was right ,out came the first two dishes not as ordered. Surely it can't be too difficult to write down dishes as and when they would be served. Sadly the next course arrived, cold soup!!!! Time to leave not before speaking to the young lady with her newly brushed hair ( done behind the bar ) . Few dishes removed from the bill but still a poor experience.More

Overall disappointing 3 course meal. Had the queen scallops and duck pancakes to start with. The portions were small, they were nice enough, but nothing special. Main course was small fish and chips and fish pie. The fish and chips was a decent size considering...it was the small portion and again nice enough but nothing over and above - typical 'pub grub'. The fish pie was small but generously filled with fish and prawns and it was tasty. It was let down by the side salad it came with. Well I say salad, it was more of a pile of leaves with a dressing, no cucumber, tomato etc. The leaves were definitely past their best and sat wilting and a bit slimy on the plate. I'd have much preferred it served with some nice veg - carrots and/or broccoli. As overall the portions were on the small side we had room for dessert and ordered a sticky toffee pudding and the eton mess. I think they forgot our order to be honest, we must have waited half an hour and people who had ordered after us were served before us. In the end we had to ask where they were. The sticky toffee was a nice flavour but spoilt by being really dry and the ice cream was well melted. The eton mess was disgusting, really sour, with warm melted cream and only one tiny piece of meringue. We weren't charged for the desserts because we didn't eat them, but would've preferred to have had a nice one and paid. The restaurant is nice and cosy inside with wooden beams and has a bit of a Christmassy feel with fairy lights and pine and cones around the bar. We were considering booking for a big family meal over Christmas, but sadly we won't be rushing back, as there are other places in the area with nicer food.More

We had a lovely stay at The Blue Bell Inn. Comfortable, quiet rooms with friendly staff and great food. Plenty of parking and lots of food and drink choices. Our included full English breakfast was really nice.

Visited for a meal on our way home. We saw online last orders was 2100 so arriving at 2020, a lady had to ask the kitchen if we could still have a meal. They said yes. Appetisers were a good start but we felt things...were a bit weird with waiting staff. My daughter ordered soup which tasted off (rancid) and had a dead fruit fly floating on the surface. She sent it back and was put off having anything else. All Other meals were average. Staff mixed up our bill despite the fact there were only 2 occupied tables and had to give me a refund. They’d offered me 10% off for the soup issue but actually with the mix up I didn’t actually get the 10% off. As we were walking out staff were arguing amongst themselves which we found highly unprofessional. Overall there was a distinct lack of apology and we won’t be back.More
