Lovely place well worth a look. Met up with adult family members for drinks and a sit down dinner - the proprietor/host offered us a private dining room which was most suited to our gathering. The place is small and sound naturally carried from a group of fellow diners in an adjacent room, but it was nothing that couldn't be... More

Having found this place on TripAdvisor and relying on the positive reviews I was quietly hopeful this would be a nice place with nice food. The place was nice and cosy, basic old 70-80's style decor and the staff were friendly and welcoming. All good there. However, I had ordered a $49 Ribeye medium rare but what was served was... More

We are also disappointed that your published comments were not articulated with management on the night. If they had have been more would have been done to make your night better. We also note you have been harsh with other highly regarded venues in other reviews. Your comments about our Décor are also very different to the usual feedback we... More

The meal and the service were both excellent. It isn't cheap, but the food was so good that I consider it very good value. The markup on the wines was also reasonable. I would happily recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I came here last night and had a great experience. We arrived early so we could have a pre-dinner drink near the front bar. It has a cosy atmosphere and great character with exposed old red bricks and furnishings surrounding you. We had the Arancini balls and Charcuterie platter for 1, for starters. The Pâté was amazing,... More

Have had the good fortune of experiencing 2 functions here over past 12 months. One being a 90th birthday & most recently a 60th birthday. On each occasion cannot speak highly enough of management team & staff. The choice & quality of food outstanding & the staff, Simon & Callum in particular catered to our every need.We chose The Atrium... More

The Rising Sun Inn is a gem, and we are never disappointed. This is my favourite restaurant in or around Adelaide, due to its charm, relaxed old world style, great food and wine. We came on a hot summer evening and once inside were treated with fine wine and food in a relaxed tasteful environment. The services was fast and... More

A delightful evening. The meal was fantastic, we each had a different main course and each one was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive and helped to make the evening special. The whole experience from reservation to dinning was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The Rising Sun rounded off what was a special celebration for our... More

Arrived at 8.05 pm, ordered by 8.25, finished our starters around 9.00, and the mains didn't come out till.... 10.15! Not one word of apology or explanation. The best of kitchens can have problems, but it's the job of the waiting staff/manager to smooth them over. A simple gesture like offering us a complimentary serve of the (excellent) damper or... Thanks for your comments. We weren't at our best last night we agree and your table was one of two in a full restaurant that did have to wait so we apologise for that. Disappointed to get your comments on the soup and venison as the others eating those dishes were complimentary. Please try us again as you will note... More

I must accentuate the "old " though, as the average age of the punter here must be 65. All is quite slow but the food is great and the interior lovely. Totally out of the way but worth the walk

Thanks for your posting glad you enjoyed our historic venue built in 1845 and it is heritage listed. FYI We get a variety of age groups here depending on the time one visits. For example one night this week we had an older demographic for an art launch but another night we had Uni students drinking at the bar for... More
