Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I was staying in Bedlinog for work but the pub i was staying in was closed on a Tuesday so i had to go in search of food. Found this place on google and took a chance and im very glad i did, its a traditional style pub with a very warm and friendly atmosphere and a good mix of modern and traditional decor. The bar was very well stocked with a good selection of just about everything and the staff were very friendly, engaging and supremely efficient. I had a couple of pints of the local brew! (Captain something) which was very well kept and really good pint. I had the Fish and Chips and onion rings which was piping hot, very tasty and a really good portion size! Its not often a portion size defeats me but there was too much for me to finish and it was all really tasty. Then there is the price, real cask ale at £3.40 a pint and the Fish n chips at £11.95 is a bargain! All in all a perfect experience and if i lived nearer i would be back often

We visited the Glantaff Inn on Monday 10 Oct the occasion of my wife’s birthday. We found it a very traditional pub where we were made very welcome. The menu was quite extensive, reasonably priced which was great because we all selected different meals My wife had the Lamb Shank which literally fell off the bone, my son had the Salmon which he wanted cooked in butter (which the chef was quite happy to do), and I had the battered fish. The portions were quite large and unfortunately after eating the main meal left no room for the excellent range of deserts An added bonus for me was that they served draught cider It was the first time we had been to the Glantaff Inn But it certainly won’t be the last

We used to live around the corner from this pub and visited a few times - the last time was in January when I visited with a mate. We both had food, I had the Cajun chicken and was blown away by how good it was. The flavour of the Cajun chicken was superb. It’s definitely one of the best local restaurants around, and has a friendly pub atmosphere too as we stayed for most of the evening having drinks after it.

We went to restaurant 28th march food was awful fish and chips cold friends had lamb shank greasy mash potatoes cold gravy full of grease. We also telephoned three times in regard to cheesecake homemade was told amazing on three occasions was told yes cheesecake available. Friends arrived first thing they asked was for cheesecake told it was not available and that they didn’t want to say over the phone because we would have cancelled eight people disappointed. On telephone call with owner advised me if we wanted desert we could have always have gone to Nelson cake shop really how rude.

Visited this pub today. When first looking at the menu we thought it was a bit pricey but ordered anyway. My husband and I ordered gammon and my sister ordered lamb shank with mashed potato in a red wine and gravy sauce. Wow when the meals were served they were huge. The gammon steaks we're really tender as was the lamb shank. All meals were well worth the price and very very tasty. We're made to feel welcome and will definitely visit again. Thank you.

Best inn in all of Wales Building - Absolutely beautiful, clean & well maintained. Staff - So friendly & welcoming with a great sense of humour really chatty. Food - Large portions absolutely delicious. We visited The Glantaff for my partners birthday dinner whilst visiting Aberdare and were not disappointed. We loved everything about The Glantaff, and really recommend it to all. We will absolutely be back on our next visit to Wales. We found the little touches really nice like deodorants and female products in the bathrooms for use if needed, so thoughtful. The menu has something’s for everyone, really varied including lovely specials. This place had absolutely no faults whatsoever and we already can’t wait to return.

Visited the Glantaff Inn for our traditional annual jaunt to the Valleys for the rugby. Travelled with our friends to visit mine hosts Andy & Sandra. We had a lovely warm welcome from all the staff and regulars at the Glantaff, even though we were in the minority (to say the least) with our England shirts on. Andy & Sandra were the perfect hosts along with Jenny & Steve and all the Glantaff team. Food, atmosphere, entertainment was fantastic and above all the wonderful people from the Valleys, we enjoyed every second, looking forward to returning, Diolch yn fawr iawn Andy, Jo, Ingrid & Mike

Our table was booked for half past 2, my mother and sister were there for twenty past and we arrived 5minutes late at 14:35. At 3pm we got up and got our own menus. We then had to ask to be served. At quarter past 4 our lunch still hadn’t arrived, there were 4 children in our party who were starving. I asked the waitress, )who I learnt afterwards was the owner) how long our food was going to be and her reply was that because we were late we missed our slot?!? Disappointed in the food we had two trays of veg and potatoes between 11 of us. We will certainly not be eating here again. There was no apology for our near 2hr wait either. People arrived after us and got service before us.

The meals were excellent. We all had the turkey which looked like a turkey steak (so tender). All the vegetables came in turines and there was loads and a nice variety. The meal also came with a dish of cauliflower cheese, that just topped it off for me. The staff were so lovely/friendly and welcoming. Good value for money, will definitely return. Highly recommended. You will need to book early as it gets very busy.

We received the warmest , friendliest Welcome from Michelle and the team. A lovely cosy beautifully clean interior with lots of character. The service and food was impeccable. My wife and our daughter ordered steaks and were presented with the largest steaks we have ever been served both cooked perfectly. The other dishes ( scampi and fish ) were equally generous and all cooked perfectly. My daughter’s dog was made as welcome as we were , not only by Michelle and the staff but by other diners too . Great value and quite possibly the friendliest pub / restaurant we have ever visited. Our first visit to the Glantaff but definitely not our last . Looking forward to our next visit to the area . If it weren’t for the five hour drive from home we’d be regulars in this fabulous place . Diolch I bawb . Thank you everyone.

I visited The Glantaff Inn last week with an old friend with whom I went right through school in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s. We were having lunch. The starter of squid literally blew our minds! I have never tasted and enjoyed such succulent fayre… ever. The main course of homemade pie (turkey and gammon) served with fab chips and peas took things up a notch (if that was possible?🤔). We left, stiffed, contented and required a short siesta subsequently…!!😂😂 Amazing. Thank you.

We had a family lunch at the Glantaff today as it’s located about half way between where we all live. The staff (particularly the lady with the pink hair who served us) were fantastic, not just attentive but really happy and friendly too. Our dog got lots of fuss too so he was happy! The food was delicious too - this will definitely be a regular meeting spot from now on!

Attended the Glan for a family 'gender reveal' From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. A beautiful looking pub with an atmosphere to match. All government guidelines being adhered to with service spot on. Meals were cooked to perfection and arrived promptly. A last mention must go to Jenny who like all the staff worked non stop, always with a smile on her face. My new favourite place. 👌

Let me first say the food was amazing really tasty and looked good did not disappoint but that said the place was ram packed and the noise was horrendous we were sat right by the toilet which wasn’t the nicest place to sit but you couldn’t have a conversation as everyone else seemed to be shouting as well. Being so busy we had to ask for menus although our food did arrive surprisingly quickly and was amazing I couldn’t wait to leave . The place is good but had booked to many people in
