1st time visiting here. I'm raging I haven't been here before. I can only describe it as something out of a movie. I love, love this place. From the decor, greeted by thee friendliest staff, nothings a bother. This is a very well run restaurant. Service is fast even in this busy day. Great looking menu plus special board at v. Reasonable prices. Kids menu is 1 of the best we hav seen. I'm very particular about my food but hav to say the sea bream dish was the best I've ever had. Hubby got the turkey gorgeous. The freshly made kids chicken gougons went down well followed by choc fudge cake all for only £6 something. Can't recommend this place enough. One of the best I've been in. Thankyou wonderful staff

Came here last night at DinnerTime. The chilli chicken strips were fantastic, I was surprised of the portion size for a Starter. When my salmon came I realised that that they give you portions so great that you might as well be in America. Nonetheless, the waitress and staff are charmingly pleasant and well humoured. I would return

Our last night in the area n this particular trip to Northern Ireland and we made the wise choice to go to the Maghera Inn for dinner. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips and I chose the roast dinner. Wow! I think this is the largest portion of roast beef I've ever been served. The meat was thick but tender and had me wishing I had a larger appetite. There were plenty of delicious accompaniments and they even managed to serve a yorkshire pudding that wasn't overdone or tough, which makes a pleasant change from my experience in other restaurants around the UK. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish my plate of food and neither of us could even contemplate a dessert. Perhaps next time we'll skip breakfast and lunch so we can make the most of their generous portions! A lovely meal in a pleasant setting with great service.

Went on Friday 6/12/19 as 2 couples , booked the conservatory like last year but on arrival were told it was reserved 4 larger parties. Were shown 2 a small table in a rear alcove right beside another party of 4, very cramped, we were so close 2 this other couple we could all listen 2 each others conversation. There were no decorations in this part of the restaurant bearing in mind it was xmas. The place was very crowded and it appeared we had been placed in extra seats put out 2 cram as many in over xmas, not very pleasant. We ordered the sizzling platter which arrived very quickly and was definitely not sizzling. Tasted fine but once again, food pre prepared 2 maximise time and money in my opinion. Service was fine and staff friendly enough, but they were under pressure. All in all, it was just ok, and a vast deterioration from the previous year which was great. Standards appear 2 have slipped as in my opinion they were cramming them in 2 maximise takings. With drinks our bill was £140, which is not cheap, and I expected a lot more 4 this price. Il b in no hurry 2 return, pity as it's a nice place.

Food is absolutely beautiful, the ribs fell apart when you touched them and the lasagna was fresh and meaty not frozen or precooked, absolutely beautiful. The portions are big we were full to the brim. I dropped a cake off before hand for my mummy's birthday and they brought it out and sang for her which was brilliant, the staff were amazing they stopped to chat and didn't rush past or hurry you along they stood and had a proper conversation and interacted with our toddler. Will definitely come back

Three of us popped in for lunch on Friday afternoon. There was a great selection to choose from on the menu. We decided to have lasagne, chicken burger and roast beef which hubby described as "The best roast beef I've ever had!". The portions were really generous and absolutely delicious. The staff were extremely pleasant and more than helpful, especially the young girl with the ginger hair (sorry I didn't catch her name). We will definitely call again when we are in the area.

We were greeted with good Covid security measures and sat at a well distanced table. The menu is large and has lots of choice ... I went for chilli chicken strips to start and pan fried hake for mains. The food arrived very quickly, it was pipping hot and there was plenty of it. The chicken could have done with more chilli to spice it up, the mango made it too sweet for me. The fish main was juicy fresh. Prices are reasonable and service was excellent from all the crew. If you’re hungry, this is the place to go!

We had Sunday lunch today I have never had such a beautiful yummy lunch anywhere as delicious as this one today. . The thick lamb slices had beautiful stuffing between each slice which piled on top of carrots and parsnips mash - the surprise of the wee lamb ball was just so special and tasty . There was also helping of tender carrot cabbage and cauliflower plus roast potatoes and mash - I nor my hubby could finish our meal. For the first time ever I was unable to have desert. The staff were so helpful friendly and professional The food for the price was exceptional We will definitely be back

Very rude head of staff, very unfriendly, wouldn’t go back , never even got to try food as this lady was so rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend. Also beer garden is basically a car park.

This pub/ restaurant is very quaint . It has a great atmosphere. We went as a couple and had starter ,main course and dessert each . We were both happy with our starters of pate and mushrooms . My main course was fantastic it was the sizzling chicken. Absolutely delicious. My hubby’s main which was the sizzling beef with pepper sauce was a bit of a let down. The pepper sauce itself was bland and had a layer of grease over the top. When we brought this to the attention of the waitress she was quick to offer alternative and we asked for a portion of the peppered sauce that is a side order for steak. This sauce came and was fantastic the flavour was much better and it hadn’t split. I can only surmise that due to the pepper sauce which is cream base being put on the sizzling plate it was too hot and sauce split. We both had dessert which again were good . Suggestions would be - this place is always busy so your table has to be given back for a certain time- the service is very efficient nearly too much as you feel under presser slightly to move on. And we wouldn’t order the sizzling beef again . We would definitely return- they have live music at weekend and the pints of stout are great !

Came for the first time on Tuesday evening. The waitress (blonde lady with glasses) could not have been more helpful. Being severely allergic to dairy I struggle with options but nothing was too much hassle. I had the ribeye steak it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. She also arranged for me to have fries and onions cooked separately. Could not recommend somewhere more! Thanks to our waitress and the chefs I had the best time!

Three of us stopped for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. The premises are tastefully decorated and very homely. Staff are very welcoming and quite bubbly. The food was good and the portions were generous. None of us would be massive fans of burgers or steak (and certainly not at lunch time) so we found the menu a little restrictive. However we all found something we could enjoy. One companion had Mussels as a starter and while the portion was acceptable she felt that the garlic in both the sauce and the ciabatta was a little overpowering. My lamb dinner was excellent and certainly disavowed me of any intention to have a dessert. The third member of the party settled for the peppered steak burger and was very happy with flavour and portion. All in all a very nice lunch in very pleasant surroundings and we would all happily return.

We went for a lovely meal at the Marriott in. This wasn’t our first time of being there and yet again we were not let down I have the medium of turkey and ham and it was fabulous the meat came and it was huge meal I really enjoyed it so very much. I would really recommend this to anyone because it is such a fantastic place the food is fantastic and caters for everything I use Rollator and find it quite difficult at times however not here. The tables are well spaced apart and I really enjoyed it plus the disabled facilities are fantastic also. I will definitely be back here again because I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The staff were extremely helpful and they gave us the only table that was left. Thank you so much to all the staff as it was a fabulous meal really thoroughly enjoyed. Ryan McCartney

We went for dinner while staying in Newcastle. All three of us had beautiful meals. I had sirloin steak which was as good as any I have had in Belfast. My wife had the fillet steak which was a generous portion and cooked to perfection. The bar manager Ryan suggested a red wine to go with the steak which was perfect. His service was exceptional which made the whole evening wonderful. We will definitely be back soon.

We started to go to the maghera Inn during the 1990s! At that time we were regulars and then like many places we just stopped going only because we got busy raising a family etc . Over time we began to return and in the last few years the food and service has been very good . In the last few days when we were there it was like a completley different experience. We were ushered to our tables and then after our orders were taken it was like we didn't exist. No usual asking if our meal was ok ( which it wasn't ) , we had to go up to the bar to order another drink, when the food arrived , the taste was not great and I hardly touched mine . Yet no one asked if our meal was nice . When one of the young waiters took the dish away he noticed it was hardly touched and said he would mention to the chef. We had to ask for our bill. No one of any seniority came to ask about our experience . The mussels were clearly pre cooked - dry and bland . As local customers we felt isolated and ignored and under valued. It would be a pity to see such a lovely establishment slip into complacency and mediocrity- also the menu has been the same for the last 2 years. We were so disappointed !
