We have stayed here before so decided to revisit but this time just for evening meal. It has been redecorated and looked very nice. It was very busy so glad we had booked ahead. We had a lovely meal and would recommend it.

Read a lot about the Wilsons Arms, shame my experience didn't quite match. We were staying nearby in a holiday rental so popped in for an evening meal. Lady at the bar was too busy talking to her friends and showing them pictures on her phone than serve me, I was stood there for 5 minutes or so before she... More

Booked to stay one night. It's a pleasant enough pub approx 2.5 miles from Coniston. It's clean and warm. The rooms are well decorated and come with all the normal extras. The food was good if you ordered what you liked. I experimented and found it quite bland. Breakfast is very basic unless you upgrade to the cooked breakfast menu.... More

On our way to a cottage in Coniston and got a bit peckish. We had a lovely roast beef sandwich and a great pot of tea. It was a lovely day and we took the dog for a walk in the fields at the back.

We choose this pub as we were recommended it by my brother as it was dog friendly and good food. We had sunday lunch and we were sat happily eating and talking and in the pub there were several other dogs all behaving themselves, all on leads. We had finished our meal and just enjoying coffees, we had been there... More

We stopped at the deli attached to the pub and then came back for drinks and then made a third visit for food in the evening The restaurant was fully booked but you can eat off the main menu in the bar so that's what we did We both had a nice main course (he had the game pie and... More

Although the service was slow, the food, when it arrived, was quite good. There was a good choice on the menu., at reasonable prices. There is clearly a need for some staff training as the waitress who served us clearly did not know her role, or even how to process a credit card payment correctly. The overall dining area was... We visited this pub for a quick lunch. Nice ambience and very comfortable. Excellent service from friendly staff. We ordered a sandwich from their varied menu. Very fresh bread with massive fillings of local ham (I believe they have their own pigs) and local cheese. Very generous helpings served with a lovely potato salad. Illy coffee which is always a... Great food, great friendly service, great selections of beers, spirits and even a great range of Tonic waters. Incredible you just wouldn't have expected all this from the outside. Picked up a card for the B&B and they do other accommodation rentals too, including hot tubs. So WILL be back. As I said, a little gem.

We (two couples) had dinner here twice during a short break staying in Torver and both times the food was very good. The service could be a hit and miss but considering how busy it gets at peak times you have to forgive them and just go with the flow. The specials were very good as were the options off... More
