We visited the tax-xbiex/Gżira branch. We were asked to take a table outside and scan the code on the table for the menu. So far so good. Then the rest wasn’t except for the good sushi. The scanned menu had different prices than what they...charged us. The waitress took the patience to refund us after we complained being charged more than we saw on the online menu. The starters (particularly the guacamole) was disgraceful in size when being charged €5.50 … and the sushi isn’t particularly the cheapest around. We had good sushi for half the price elsewhere so even though the food is good it is not worth going back unless the prices are properly listed and competitive with other outlets. Also I suggest to revamp the boxes as they’re limited in choice and expensive which gives the impression it’s not even worth getting them. Over €100 for three people and I didn’t even eaten enough. Hence not particularly recommended.More
One of the best sushi places in Malta. Would highly recommend as they are very hygienic and the sushi is always fresh and tasty
Totally not served by the woman (might be a manager cos she was wearing different clothes) who was working there on Friday 22nd January 2021 at 9:00pm. I order from zen every week (delivery or i just go there as i did yesterday) and there...are times that i even order more than once a week. The food is always delicious and i simply love it, that’s why i order from them regularly. Yesterday I went there and i was treated extremely bad by the woman who was working there. There were a group of 3 waiting to order and i was waiting behind them. This women came out of nowhere and informed me that if i wanted to order, i should wait outside (covid rules). I told her ok, and i went outside even though there were only 3 people ahead of me (that were together) not 100 and outside it was freezing cold and rainy. Anyway, i went outside and whilst i was waiting, i noticed that there were another 3 people waiting instead of me. I obviously went inside to check why she had told me to go wait outside and then these went instead of me waiting to order. She told me that they were there before me and that i have to wait outside hahahaha, maybe she thought that i was crazy? Who knows. What i know is that i will never go to zen skyparks again in my life as the attitude of this woman is shameful and unacceptable. Hope that she doesn’t have this attitude with other people :)More
Immaculately clean, food was so good as usual. Very reasonable prices always a pleasure to go and grab a bite.
Service very attentive and professional, excellent choice range on menu. Selections best value. Only criticism is that the outside tables small and the high, solid bottomed seats are not very comfortable on the uneven ground.
I ordered a mix of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi, as well as the monthly special roll. They were all delicious. I had the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was delicious too. Very attentive service as well. Will definitely return.
This is a place we frequent and are always very happy with the food and the service. We ordered through Time To Eat for a change and it was as scrumptious as always.
Love this place to bits as it's a stone throw away from home. So if I want to grab a bite of some delicious food is only minutes away.
Delicious sushi, always impeccable, never disappointing.. great customer service.. Spent my birthday evening here also this year; chose "The Black Box" instead of birthday cake 😄 ..will definitely do it again next year!! Excellent restaurant.. keep it up!
As many of you already know, Japan has a wonderful and unique cuisine but mostly when we think about Japanese food, what automatically comes to our minds is fish and rice. That is a good reason to order only what you think you can eat—because...too much sushi isn’t healthy. So I took my grandson along as he had more knowledge of the menu having dined at ZEN SUSHI to GO, Skyparks, Luqa many times before. As an intelligent boy, he looked up at me and said, rather suggested: “grandpa, enjoy your meal, make sure you eat each piece of sushi as it’s presented to you as opposed to letting items stack up on your plate.” It’s generally considered rude in European culture to pick up your bowl of soup and slurp like it’s your last meal on earth. But this is not the case with Japanese etiquette. In fact, I read that it’s encouraged to lift your miso-filled bowl to your mouth, using the spoon with the other hand to scoop up the goodness. The reason why I ordered a bowl of MISO, which by the way was truly delicious notwithstanding it was missing some ingredients. It is a soup made from a miso paste. Inside this kind of base soup, I did find pieces of tofu, onion and wakame seaweed. Sometimes one can find vegetables like sweet potatoes, carrots, and radish. Normally it always comes with a bowl of rice, however, no rice was given. Handling food is often frowned upon, unless, say it’s a burger, pizza or other designated finger food. From the Uramaki selections on the menu, my grandson ordered 8 pieces of Kuro Roll, Shoga Roll, Umai and 6 pieces of Yen. The Kuro roll comes with pieces of Salmon, Cucumber, Mayonnaise, Black Rice topped with Avocado, Black Masago (Masago is the roe (eggs) of the capelin fish) and Beetroot mayonnaise....The Shoga Roll has a mixture of Prawn Tempura, Asparagus, Rocket topped with Ginger marinated Salmon, Wasabi mayonnaise and Crispy Onions… on the other hand, the Umai is more filling with pieces of Tuna, Avocado, Masago, Soy paper, Spicy mayonnaise topped with seared marinated Salmon, Teriyaki sauce, Spring onions, and Tempura crumbs. The Yen is rice-free with pieces of Salmon, Carrot, Coloured peppers, Goma wakame (kind of seaweed salad), Iceberg lettuce, Cucumber, Avocado with a vinegar, Mirin & Lemon dressing. Food was served with a side bowl of Wakame Salad. We shared all the pieces between us and enjoyed every single bite. Thumbs up to my grandson. Bill came to €51.50 inclusive two bottles of sparkling water. Service was perfect and quick as there weren't too many patrons sitting for lunch.More
I bought sushi to take away. Delivery in time, sushi very tasty and fresh, price fine. I really like it and will order again.
2 days ago I bought the lunch box pack and I felt sick during all the night. I was a bit surprised because I bought a lot of time sushi there and nothing happened. I hope you check the fish before serving it because it...is a serious issue.More
I am a fan of Zen sushi and a regular visitor at the SkyParks joint. Irrespective whether dining in or enjoying a takeout, the food is simply great. Service is efficient and with a smile. Keep it up!
We like going there regularly. Chefs are very good. Presentation of food is excellent. Very clean. Staff very good. A bit expensive but good
