Good value reasonably priced meal with an adequate choice. Service can be slow at busy times but staff efficient

Popped in for lunch as we were close by, on arrival we were met by an unfriendly waitress who said abruptly we would have to wait to see if a table was available, whilst she tapped away on the computer screen another waitress came over and told here to get some drinks for a different table and she would check... 7 of us ate here after a day at the races. Food and service were all very good. I think it' s the best vintage inn in Bristol and bath. And will be returning. 3 courses for 18.95. All were served to a good standard and all were hot. One thing that did make us all laugh was a side... More

Visited The Fox Den in Bristol for lunch today. The deco is very pleasant and cosy. The Menu is vast for both Lunch and Evening meals. We chose the Fixed Price Lunch menu - 2 course for £11.50 or 3 course for £ 14-50. Two of us had the Yorkshire Ham ,egg and chips and one had Scampi and chips... More

Have visited the Fox Den a few times but still find it hard to find the entrance, especially in the dark. It needs much better signage. Arrived for 7pm and had pre-booked a table as I know this pub gets pretty busy as it shares a site with a hotel. Had a bit of a wait at the front desk... More

What a find! I don't generally like Sunday dinners other than home made ones...this one was different. Real rich gravy, beautifully honied carrots, Yorkshire pudding with a taste, tender cuts of meat and best of all - the best tasting fluffy roast potatoes ever! Yes there was a wait of around 40 mins, but the place was packed (always a... More

Staff were helpful but the food was pretty average. I had hunters chicken.....overdone with a few sweet potato fries (50p "upgrade"!!) a bit of fatty bacon and 2 very small very decimated cherry tomatoes. Classic modern pub grub I'm afraid....cheap ingredients prepared by a poorly trained (and probably under paid) chef.

No warm welcome from the staff, absolutely poor service, disgusting cutlery on the table, dirty napkins, gravy for 6 people in the smallest pot in the house I bet, chewy beef - the worst experience of Sunday roast dinner in my life!!!

Have dined here quite a few times now and always found it to be good. Good service, good food, good price. We stopped for Sunday lunch and chose the roast platter to share. It arrived quickly & consisted of beef, lamb & turkey + the usual veg. The beef & lamb were excellent but the turkey was not very good,... More
