Totally horrible, bad service, rude staff, arrogance at its best, The time it took to be served was pathetic, below average servings, Would never recommend such an unprofessional food stall

The food was ok but in very small amounts and two of the four people who ate there had upset stomachs later. The service was slow and it was really expensive. Had been here before, but not for a while. It was pricey before but...has become much worse. It wasn’t busy this time and we understand why.More
Slow service, disastrous food flavours, worst customer service. To be honest worst restaurant I've been in Sydney.
I bring my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday; and I was disappointed, really deficient customer service; the Bandeja Paisa is such a small portion for the price, and part of our food was cold. If you are representing the Latino community you should be more...than drinks and loud music.More
We dined here last night as my brother moved into the area and they wanted to try what they described as the busy Mexican restaurant. Had a cool vibe and staff were foreign workers which seemed like a winning mix. I Ordered the meat lover...experience and it was a bit of a farce. Although I understand oil is used it was very heavy in oil and chips were very much over cooked. It came out on a large plate rather than the tiered plate stand as in the image which made it hard to share. Was also missing the tortilas, sour cream and aji sauce as advertised. At first was told that this was the correct way the dish was served - then had to show them the online menu - the waiter was fantastic but could clearly see they were run off their feet. The tortilas then came with cheese melted on them so was very soggy. The sour cream wasn’t brought out, so I had to ask for this and before I could mention the aji sauce they were gone. A different staff member came down to provide the sour cream, I was still missing the aji sauce, I asked for this and they brought out a salsa / pico de gallo style mix instead. By this point I was over it and food was getting cold. I ate what I could but that style dish always needs to be hot or warm. Most food was $3 more on the app compared to website menu and a hidden tip was added - you had to remove the tip. I don’t mind tipping after the meal for the service, not before we’ve seen the food or had service. Was a bit sneaky. Maybe they were down staff because of Mardi Gra? I don’t know, but hidden surcharges, getting food items wrong several times and overprice wings - $15 for 6 chicken small drumettes - not wings. Bit disappointed overall. The runner we had was brilliant though, friendly and helpful.More
Where to begin Service was slow, the staff were uninterested with seating customers and spent their time taking to thier friends while several people waited for attention. Corn chips were stale! Very stale, you could bend one in half and not break it. A staff...member was sitting down at one of the tables and Vaping on a busy Friday night, which is AGAINST THE LAW. 'Frozen" margarita was melted on arrival. The ordering app they use is terrible Do not go here.More
Very slow and not very professional service. Half an hour to get the menu, another half to get the drinks and another half to get the food. Food is average but big portions.
We came here a couple of years ago and raved about the food and service. How quickly things changed with a change of owner. The beautiful dishes we had weren’t on the menu anymore but we chose the tacos to start with and some drinks...as we decided our mains. After 30 mins she came back and took our mains order and at the same time we asked for water. The water never came so we asked another guy for some and he delivered straight away. After an hour no tacos, no drinks and our mains came out. I asked where our drinks and tacos were and he checked and quickly scrambled to make our drinks. I told him to cancel the tacos as we expected them 50mins earlier. We started our mains and I had the macho tray dish. The only thing nice on the plate was the rice and fried banana. The ‘crispy’ pork belly was a rubbery pork chop. The chorizo was bland and dry, the mince bland, the beans bland and watery and the egg dry. My wife had the El Bandito fish which was nice and flavourful. Most of the way thru the mains the tacos came out after we cancelled them. We sent them back to her annoyance. When we paid the bill they tried to charge for the tacos and were annoyed when I asked for them to be removed. After all this I paid and she said ‘ you wanna give a tip!’ To which a replied NO! Everyone around complained about their drinks taking so long and one couple got their drinks well after they finished their meal and were ready to leave. Atrocious service from a place that touts cocktails as a feature. Never ever again it was horribleMore
Great friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble for them, really tasty food and snacks and Sangria, yum.
Been planning to come here for a while, but when we did it was a major disappointment. Ordered a jug of drinks ($45 for "strong" margaritas) but two individual drinks were brought to the table. When this was questioned, the server - a different person...from that who served us - explained that jugs were no longer being served. So six drinks ended up being served during our dinner for four. I was pretty shocked when I received the final bill with its drinks total of almost $120. Each cocktails had cost almost $20 - including a couple of Cosmopolitans which had been served in small Champagne flutes. (So very small drinks indeed!). The food was ordinary and, like the drinks, far from value for money for what it was. A $15 "Supreme Nachos" was a small plate of corn chips topped with a few beans, a tiny grating of cheese (not melted), a tablespoon of guacamole and a few drizzles of mayo. If you're after this type of cuisine, you'll find much better quality and value at Calaveras Mexican Cantina - which is just a short walk away on King St, closer to the station.More
We changed our dinner plans after seeing the delicious sounding menu as we walked along the street. However, this excitement was short lived. The service was mediocre: slow and sometimes required reminding. The empanadas, like most of the items we bought, were tasteless and powdery...and the pork belly/chirizo dish was rubbery and tough as though they had been microwaved. There were a few saving graces: the discounted sangria during happy hour, the excellent people watching spot and the nacho dipping medley (layers of guaca, sour cream, cheese and beef). But aside from these two items, we would not recommend this place.More
Great presentation, generous helpings, authentic, happy atmosphere too. Highly recommend great place to people watch. Staff eager to help. Will surely return...

Two of everything on the platter, with a jug of sangria. Likes: - Hot...food - Sweet potato fries were excellent - Beef was not bad Average: - Sangria was a bit diluted - Noise from car traffic (our table was near the walking pathway and road) - The rest of the food was averageMore
Many resident Latins tout this restaurant but my experience was not good. On the plus side the staff were amiable. But the food was tasteless. Our party all had the Typical Colombian Platter. This dish is called different things in every Colombian restaurant but the...main components are beans, ground beef, a piece of chorizo, and most important deep-fried pork belly (chicharon). Exotik was 0 for 4 on these: the beans were watery, the ground beef was insipid, the chorizo was bland, and worst of all the pork was a tough, dried-out, lifeless piece of jerky. The fried banana and rice were okay. The portions were gigantic, but that couldn’t make up for the lack of flavor. I used to travel to Colombia regularly and know what this dish can taste like when done right. If the cooks don’t know what they’re doing, or don’t care, a restaurant shouldn’t offer this dish.More
This was my second visit here and once again it was amazing. We had the share platter and sangria. Oh my goodness the flavours and tastes were fantastic and the atmosphere is unequalled in Newtown. I will definitely be back for a repeat of this...experience! SMore
