Made a pit stop here during our walk along the hadrians wall route as recommended by the place we were staying. Great little cafe with very welcoming staff and dog friendly too. Cakes were delicious. Definitely worth a visit
Called at this little place near the end of our second day walking the coast to coast route and very glad we did. Not a great deal of choice when we arrived but caramel shortbread was delicious. Well worth a stop here.
The Reading Room is a little gem filled with genuinely caring people who value all customers, serve delicious food, ensures all walkers have sufficient water on board, knows it’s customer base & is simply a lovely place to enjoy a break.
