We were out sightseeing for the day and after seeing next to no restaurants for a while we seen the sign for Caneta and decided to give it a try and glad we did. From the outside it does not look like much bit inside...you will find a very nice clean impressive dining area. The food was excellent and good service as well. Seeing the reviews after I get it, it really is worth the drive.More

The Caneta Restaurant has a great country atmosphere. The slow cooked beef stew in wine is one of the finest dishes I have ever had anywhere. It simply melts in your mouth and is accompanied by bread that specializes in soaking up the delicious sauce....The rest of the dishes we tasted were also good. The staff is friendly and helpful.More

The resto is a very cosy old barn with nice interior. The food was excellent! We had the bone marrow and the angus carpaccio. For the main we had the picanha (not on the menu but a classic Portugese dish) and the Alcatra, wich is...wonderful. Reserve in advance! The place is always full so make a reservation a few days in advance.More

The meat alcatra, though traditional, was a bit bland to our taste. Didn’t have the opportunity to taste the grilled Angus unfortunately. Still, friendly service and good experience overall.

We went to Caneta because my boyfriend really wanted to try the Alcatra (typical dish), but I don't eat meat or fish so I was ready to ask just for soup, rice, and chips. The guy that served us was really nice and let me...know that they have vegetarian options (not on the menu but you can ask for them) and I had a tasty and filling dinner. Really recommend for both vegetarian and the typical dishes!More

Excellent Sunday lunch. The room is large and the hygiene is impeccable. We tried Bife à Casa (veal rib chop) and Espetada Caneta (3 large pieces of filet mignon). The meat is from restaurant's own production and has exceptional, tender and succulent quality. The portions...are huge, even for those who eat a lot, like me. I advise to share, may be with a starter first. We didn't try any, and thankfully, because we came out full.More

We loved it here! The service was outstanding! We had the fish of the day and the beef stew. Both were amazing. Best blood sausage I’ve ever had!
