Following in the success of sister restaurant Le Bouchon, the owners decided to open a sister venue in Rettendon Common on the outskirts of Chelmsford City, Le Benaix. A major restoration took place of the 16th Century heavily timbered period building which has been extended significantly to include; an Orangery which holds approx. 60 people, a Tudor Room which holds 16 people for an intimate family dinner or corporate dining affair with the Main Restaurant holding a further 75. Their welcoming oak beamed Bar and Brasserie area holds a further 40 people which during the winter months boasts two glorious log burning fires. Enjoyed this place so much - Sunday lunch was lovely. A magician was going around the tables in between serving. Staff were lovely. Good selection of cocktails . Gardens were beautiful. Sun was shinning a lovely day had by all - must go again soon.

I visit this restaurant as often as I can as I love it! My last visit was for a friends birthday and everything was perfect and to top it so was the weather so we enjoyed a wonderful meal al fresco. Perfect!
