I’m not one for writing bad reviews and I rather hope Chef was having an off-day because the experience leaves me with little to recommend. My husband and I visited this weekend; I’d rung in advance to book and ensure gluten free dining could be...More

The food was completely tasteless and terrible, I had the tomato as a starter which was just 2 tomatoes cut in halves, that’s it! then the gnocchi as a main course and that could be compared to shewing gum! , don’t go!

Visited several times, for lovely afternoon teas as well as evening Christmas meals. Always first class food and service. Going again shortly for another meal, curtesy of 70th birthday present from friends.

Last minute decision to go out and booked a table at the Glasshouse. The food was amazing and the service the same. It's not a cheap restaurant, but if you check out "Meerkat Meals" you can save a bit of money.

Doctor Brian I read your Post with some interest and am somewhat confused - especially by your last paragraph You seem upset that (following your almost acceptable praise) that this establishment is so busy and truthful with you, you cannot accept they cannot accomodate your party at your desired times - owing to a previous booking ?! If I was Oakley Hall, I would have asked you, why you can't arrive 2 x hours earlier ? I think your arrogance is beyond belief and, good on Oakley Hall for being so busy they don't have to accept customers like yourself to ensure their future prosperity I wish Doctors in this country applied your own selfish booking requirements to their own Practices when your patients are trying to make appointments with their "local" doctors - you may then find out how difficult and unwelcoming your "Profession" is - in comparison to a private enterprise trying to make a living, whilst being unsupported by lavish taxpayers support I suppose your only defence is to claim you are a Doctor of Literature or Science and don't have patients / Customers, which really means you have no contact with reality, but only wish to try to destroy a local business through the anonymity of the internet ? It must have been worth going to university to learn that lesson I had never thought of going to Oakley Hall to sample their wares - but I am now
