There is always a friendly greeting from the owner and also from the other guests there. The staff are always very vigilant, never once tripping up on the cobbled stones! The food, drinks and music never fail to please. Richard has created a very special...space at the Drawingroom; whether you are on your own or with a crowd the atmosphere is a little bit of heaven. An amazingly beautiful experience

We stopped off for lunch on a Thursday which was amazing. I had the satay and my partner had falafel. Both really tasty and a beautiful, unique atmosphere. We managed to get a seat for the Friday music evening. I can not recommend this enough....The musicians playing were so very talented and the unique atmosphere with Richard’s friendly approach made for one of the best evenings I’ve ever had. Just beautiful. If you are ever in Chesham, this venue is definitely worth a visit.More

Lovely little place

Came here with a friend for a little catch up. Hadn’t seen each other in a long while and was nice to be able to go to our favourite place for a lovely coffee date!

Storytelling one of many visits here.

We have been coming to The Drawing Room for 10 years. Richard and his team always make us feel relaxed. Great vegetarian food cakes and drinks. Contact Richard to join his mailing list for outdoors gigs under heated awnings , comedy nights, Storytelling and talks...and much much more. You can also book this venue for any private event. It really is a special place. I call it my "home from home ". Do visit.More

Friendly, quirky and beautiful.

Been wanting to visit here for a while, finally popped in for some hot chocolate, cake and my friend had tea. Great service, very friendly staff and the carrot cake and hot chcolate was delicious. Will definitely be back. Thank you 😊

Very good night out, something a bit different

This is a quirky restaurant / music venue - Richard the host really sets the atmosphere... dinner is served in the open air in an old courtyard just off the high street while various bands, singers, poets, etc entertain. This is really off the beaten...track in style as well as literally. But it works. A staple of the local scene for decades.More

Great find

Stopped here for brunch on a beautiful Sunday morning. We’ve lived in Chesham for years but never been here. And we’ve clearly been missing out - it’s great. Tranquil and historical setting, the drawingroom has a kind of Moroccan theme to it whilst sitting in...an historic cobbled courtyard. Anyway …. The food was delicious, accompanied by crisp, nicely chilled white wine. Great service, very friendly and efficient staff. A great find and nice to meet the owner, Richard, as we left. We shall be back!More

If the Drawing Room was in LA there’d be a 3 month queue to get in. Fabulous night out

About two years after signing up to the emails I finally visited the Drawing Room last night (Friday) to watch The Barnstormers. Fabulous night, great music, nice food and beer and lovely staff and owner. If this place was in LA there’d be a 3...month waiting list to get in.More

Fab venue

First time visiting yesterday evening. Wonderful Simon and Garfunkel tribute band. Cosy, quirky venue, we didn’t eat but our friends did and the vegan meal looked delicious. So lovely to have this on our doorstep and will definitely visit again.

Enchanting place to relax, eat yummy food and soak up some culture.

There's a gorgeous courtyard where you can sit, admire the outdoor artwork, beautiful plants and period building, and enjoy a chat with the friendly staff. The food is pretty good too and there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

Return visit and not disappointed

Great quirky place with great live music at a weekend. Vegetarian food on offer and a lovely outdoor courtyard to experience. The host, Richard, is really friendly and does his best to make sure everyone feels at home

Amazing lunch time music

Walking down Chesham high street and heard some superb jazz playing - turned out to be a 5 piece brass ensemble les by Richard Wainright and some friends getting together to play - musicians who regularly play in the west end and appear on film...scores like Dunkirk and the Bond movies . Coffee was lovely as was the awesome homemade houmous Combined with the music - very unexpected and marvellous lunch time Thanks to Richard who has been running the Drawing room for many years - outstanding !More

what a fabulous day it was, and they are back on the 2nd Oct Friday evening..there is music wednesday and thursday 11- 1pm and 1230-2pm...so glad you got to experience this..xr

Best coffee place in town

The meals are a little expensive but you know whatever you get be it food or hot chocolate it is all ethically sourced. The ambiance is lovely and you can sit outside with the woodburner going. Service is very friendly. Coffee is the same price...as other cafés so I like to support a local independent.More

The cafe looks accessible from the main street to an outside table but we prob's could not handle steps and cobbles! Hi Wendy, you are correct, you can sit in the yard nearest the High st or from East with a car...and if this helps I will allow you to park in the Yard at the east st entrance...there are cobbles all the way through... More
