We were a walk in but had tried to book online. Online said there were no spaces but we chanced it. It was about 95 per cent empty! We visited for a Sunday lunch. Blazing sunshine and great outdoor seating. However, the food was ‘ok’...and quite disappointing considering the prices. I’d question how much of it was fresh. I had the rib eye steak which was meant to be medium rare but was really unevenly cooked. Service was again ‘ok’ but not very engaging and the barman was really moody and didn’t smile at all. One of the waitresses tried to help us by taking a drinks order but we had to pay for everything at the bar. Again considering the prices, I wouldn’t expect to have to do that. Wouldn’t rush back unless food and service is improved.More

Lovely place, nice food awful service, such a shame, should be busy on a sunday but about 4 tables all day taken, noone saw us to our table, gave us menus, checked on us throughout. We had to ask for everything, good luck no service...charge added or we would have asked for it to be removed. I would go as far to say worst service anywhere i have been, ever!More

Very poor! Not surprising the restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening, should’ve taken the hint! Although friendly, the waiting staff were lacking in any knowledge about the meals on the menu, not their fault, clearly some major training issues. Pork belly was average at...best tho the Caesar Salad wasn’t anywhere near that good! Large chunks of very dry chicken, couldn’t find the Caesar dressing, had to ask for more & no sign of cheese ( the waitress said “I haven't seen cheese on dish before”) & the lettuce was on its last legs. Barely ate a quarter of it. Steer well clear!!More

I was at the Lazy Pig for lunch this week and while the table service was friendly, the food was unpleasant. We ordered the duck as the menu description sounded lovely. The duck itself was alright, although edging into overdone and lacking flavour, but the...bon bon, potato, and sauce tasted inedibly bad. I didn't want to eat it and left still feeling hungry. It was only today looking back at the menu online that I realised that there was meant to be carrot puree and red wine gravy on the dish and these definitely weren't there. The tenderstem broccoli was the only enjoyable part of the meal, which is not acceptable at any price point, but certainly not for a £20 dish. I was a bit stressed dealing with my elderly mum, so did that typical Brit thing of not making a fuss, but I should have raised it as the food was well below the standard we've had here before and I feel stupid for paying the full bill. The Lazy Pig either needs to revise its menu ambitions or up its cheffing game, and probably both.More

My wife, myself and my daughter had dinner at The Lazy Pig on Wednesday 13th April. We have eaten there before and liked the place especially the layout and easy access. However, based on this visit, we will not being going back for some time....At 6pm, and bearing in mind their already rather limited menu, 4 key dishes were not available. (The Duck, The caesar salad, the Pie and none of the pizzas…”the pizza chef had not turned up for work”). We tried the burger, and it was dry and tasteless, I had the pork and it was really poor. BUT the fish and chips was very good. The service was very casual and disinterested. We did not give feedback to the management, which was my fault. I just wanted to get my guests home.More

As above, quality of produce is good. But the quality of service is appalling. Service is slow, not welcoming and overall below standard. The staff need better training and overall better management. Not only had I I lost count how many times I asked for...the wine that ordered but the steak (£32) that I ordered arrived cold. The childrens pizzas were also served with stones in the olives - I appreciate how that may come across but in 2022 it is generally standard for olives to be pitted for children’s food. If this establishment wants to justify its prices and to maintain a customer base they need to match prices with quality service, customer experience, efficiency of service and last and not at least a smile from any of the staff.More
