We had dinner as well as breakfast here, as we were guests of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and were happy to accommodate special requests for our 5 year old.

The restaurant has a chalkboard advising it is full but don't be put off, as there is seating indoors if the terrace is full. We tried the special of duck confit with cherries in a pastry served with salad and chips. We were so looking forward to the duck, but although the pie was full of meat it wasn't very... More

This restaurant was visited by a group of 12 of us travelling on a motorcycle tour. We stopped here for brunch. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The meals were served on time and each one was delicious. Not one complaint from any of the 12 friends. The coffee was piping hot and delicious as well. We all... More

The Olive Terrace offers a haven for heat stricken guests in the hot town of Tulbagh. A lovely patio overlooks the main road, but inside the hotel the restaurant offers a cool retreat. The pulled pork sandwich was delightful, so was the Nicoise salad with fresh Tuna. A summer's platter is offered for younger guests. Service was friendly and efficient... More

Dear Michelle R many thanks for your kind review. We change our menu weekly, to ensure we incorporate fresh local produce. Prunes, figs and peaches are currently being harvested in the valley, and wine grapes will be next. Each season we make sorbets using the wine grapes. Best wishes Alasdair More

Great food, in a very nice setting in the center of Tulbagh. We had a table under the olive tree on a warm summer evening and was a great place to relax and enjoy the food and service

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, wonderful setting. Waiters were friendly and efficient, and the oyster mushroom risotto was to die for. We had the good luck to visit the Olive Terrace whilst Slow Boat Smokin', a fantastic blues and country bad, performed resulting in a wonderful afternoon that won't soon be forgotten.
